Endless loading screen

Sorry for the bother guys, but I've been having trouble on the game : basically it lets me lo in, recognize me logging in,and then leads me to an endless black screen with "loading - please wait.." in the corner. I've tried restarting everything (in order, the game, several times, then steam, then the computer cuz why not...), even redownloading the game. Basically, I've logged once after downloading he game, then got kicked out because I was idle, then have not been able to log back in. If there was an error log, I could have guessed what's wrong, but nope. Only clue I have is on the "play now" screen, there is a "verifying cache" that stays at 0%. Thanks for reading anyway =)

I started getting this 3 days ago. Before that i was happily playing but can no longer play as the screen is black. I do get the chat interface, inventory & minimap boxes. The minmap is black with one white dot in it. I have tried updates, excluding runescape from anti virus, reboots etc. Nothing has worked

Thanks for the input, just if anyone finds this thread, may it help them, I fixed the problem by going on steam library >> right click on the game name in your list >> Properties >> local data >>> verify data integrity.

Try this in game. Activate the Developer Console.

To access the Developer Console:
hold down Alt and then press the ` (quote/grave accent) or ² (superscript 2)
Should be on a qwerty
keyboard. the 1 key with the ` on it.

Then type this into it:

deletejs5caches

This Deletes the game cache.

(Try this at Lobby)

After it is done and you get no errors in console. Shut your game down.

Then start the game. Let it download the cache, then go play like normal.

(There are some issues for some people that crashing seems to be a problem. If you look on the runescape page the latest it mentions there will be updates to address these in due course!)

Mine is doing the same where I'll log in but my screen stays black and will never load. I updated my graphics driver but it still won't work. I've been playing just fine for months with only on average one crash per night while playing, but as of three days ago, 99% of the time it gets stuck at the black loading screen.

I deleted my cache and it worked for a couple min then just froze again and won't load back in. I did that a couple times with no luck

Same problem here and Gamer's suggestion doesn't work for me.
