Stuck on loading application resources

Is it stopping you from loading altogether, or are you still able to select a world and get into the game?

I believe this is when opening the game itself. When open game, it loads a Splash screen. There it can get stuck. In my case, it get stuck if my CPU is too busy when i try to open more than 5 clients at once for example.

To OP:
You can try delete your Jagex cache folder: C:\ProgramData\Jagex\ and try open the game again.

Had this too today. Finally gave up and just loaded up the RS client itself. No problems at all with that. I don't think the Steam client is 100% okay. It seems to have a number of issues that the NXT client does not. At least for me.

it was not loading because i had 2 monitors connected, i had to disconnect one of them to get it to load again

I'm still stuck loading application resources. No HDMI cable to disconnect. Graphics card up to date. The only cache files I can find are jcache, marked BETA, and dated 7/26/2020. Router checks out, security checks out, trying via Steam was a last resort. I'm really puzzled.

The issue is because of dual monitors? I am having the same problem right now, I did not have the problem before today with my dual monitor set up and I have ran the game with that set up multiple times.

Yeah, dual monitor setups can cause this issue, Just unplug one of your monitors, launch the game, and then plug it back in and it will work just fine from there
