beach event question

when i participated in the beach event in 2018 i could have sworn that i was in the dungeoneering hole the whole event and didnt have to worry about once i ate 3 ice creams i couldn't gain xp anymore.
But i reread the event on the wiki and it says once you ate 3 ice creams you can't gain xp till the next day. Am i misremembering the event or am i reading the wiki wrong. Also yes i remember happy hour when you didnt have to worry about the ice cream

I defo remember something about the icecreams, and limiting exp gains, and also remember the happy hour... that's about all i remember other than the ton of items/toys/emotes/costumes you could get.

You might be misremembering based on the Skill Off instance of the Dungeoneering Hole, which did not have the heat bar or the auto-jumpout and could drop the pet. They nerfed it quite heavily for the Beach return.

Straight from the NEW beach event coming up on the 12th July..

"Be sure to keep an eye on that Temperature Gauge, by the way - when it fills up, you'll need to take a break to cool down, and though you can still play all the beach activities on offer, you won't earn XP. Need to chill out quickly? Grab yourself some Ice Cream!"
