[SOLVED]I can't change my Runescape account on Steam.
EDIT: SOLVED

Hi, I've tried the game on both Steam (steam account) and Mobile (Runescape account), and I would like to continue my progress from Mobile version (Runescape account) on Steam.

However, I can't.

This is due to the reason that both Steam version and mobile version already have my progress saved.

If I try to link my steam account to my mobile/Runescape account, the manage linked ID page will says that it is not possible due to my steam account already have progress saved.

If I log-in into the game via steam and try to access linked account page from in-game, it will force me to enter Runescae ID and password before I can even access the managed lined account page. If I enter the one that I've already made some progress, the webpage will also refuse, saying that there's already progress on that Runescape ID.

I even try using "End Session" button but it doesn't work. Whenever I log-in into Steam version, it will force me to ONLY use my steam ID.

If it's possible I'd like to have my progress tied to this steam ID removed, so that I can link the existing Runescape ID to it. Please.

I realize that another solution is to just play non-steam version, but if possible I'd like to still play from here due to achievements.

well you go to the runescape website log in with your steam account (they then will ask you to give your steam rs account an email that you can log in normaly) then you just unlink your steam account (close your browser and reload the page) then you just log in with your mobile account on the website and link with steam that should fix it (it worked for me that way)

I can't do this. I can log-in on the website with my steam account, but when I click the "Linked account management" page to unlink, the website will make me put in my Runescape e-mail and password that I used to play the game.

Which doesn't exist for this steam account because I log-in with steam from the beginning.

And if I put in the ones I use for my mobile account it will just say game progress already existed on that account.

You need to log into on the web site the same account you're using for Steam, then unlink that account before logging out. Then log into the account you wish to use (again, this is all on the website, not Steam) and then you can link this other account to Steam.

Only one account can be linked at a time and only that one will be the active one as far as Steam and the web site are concerned if we're talking about the linked account. You can only ever change it through the web site, not Steam.

Now I'm not 100% sure about how it works on mobile but I would imagine it's the same or similar since the web site is the official connection to the game developers and it's how they maintain records for your accounts and characters.

I did. I log-in at Runescape's website. But to access the webpage that has unlink button, the website force me to log-in the second time, and it doesn't have log in via Steam ID option (despite the fact that I already logged in using steam account in the first place) , just e-mail and password.

Since I log in via steam from the beginning, it doesn't have those. But if I try to use non-steam account at this process, the webpage will says there's game process on that email and won't let me access Unlink page.

It works now. Finally figured it out, but it was REALLY painful to gothrough.

Basically

1.I have to log-in on the main website using my mobile account, and not Steam account.

2.Then when I go to linked accounts management page, I suddenly have an option to sign in with Steam, Google +, Apple ID and all that, despite those not showing up when I log-in with my steam account.

3.So I tired logging in with my Steam ID at this point. And it works! The page with unlink button finally show up!

4.But I still can't unlink. The website told me I have to set up mobile authenticator first.

5.So I did. But I still can't unlink. The website says that I'll need to verify my e-mail first.

6.So I did, but I still can't unlink. The website still says that I need to set up mobile authenticator....

7.So I try to log-in and out several times. At this point I've done "Click the images with buses/trafficlights/palm tree/Bridges for about 20 times now....

8.Still don't work. So I copy the error message and paste on google to look up what's going on.

9.Runescape website says it appears because I need to link/verify an e-mail with that account first.

10.Again, confusion, since I use my e-mail to log-in and I already verified it.

11.So I came to a realization that maybe it means I need to link another random e-mail with Steam account too.

12.So I did, I log-in using Steam account and add a new burner email to the Steam account.

13.Log-out and re-log in with phone account. Try to unlink again, and it finally works!
