I hate Lumbridge.
I love the game but I hate Lumbridge and everything in it with a burning passion, when do you think it would be OK to leave Lumbridge and not have any progress damaged?

What's wrong with Lumbridge?

You could probably leave right away, all that's really required there is to start Cook's Assistant and The Restless Ghost. You can find other level 1 training spots elsewhere, like Burthorpe

Burthorpe is much better, but its wrth to visit lumbridge for few things, mainly for thieving and minor quests as well as prayer minigame

I'm sick of it because I've tried the game like 10 times before when I was younger and always got stuck at Lumbridge, and it's overall just an ugly place

Rs isn't like some mmo's lumby is not just a starter zone where you do all the content and move on
You'll be going back there for YEARS and YEARS for different things, bet that cheered you up :)
go where you want when you want
Amygdala Oct 26, 2020 @ 10:36am
Yeah, the new starting area is Burthorpe now
Nerdfection Oct 26, 2020 @ 10:43am
You just leave lol. No one makes you stay anywhere.Theres some good baby's-first-MMO quests in Lumbridge and tasks to do but you can just walk to varrock, al kharid, falador, etc whenever

Actually, is there a better "new member/noobs" city then Lumbridge?

I mean i just run like 30 metres from lodestone and i have: FULL forge, bank chest + general shop + thieves guild (as a bonus :p) all on top of each other. Sure -there are missing things like pot crafting stuff, kitchen or loom (that for some reasons is stuck on second floor of castle, eh)

tl:dr - whats the best city/place with: good teleport access and all facilities stack "in one place"
(sure i really like Artisan Workshop -but it sooooo far from lodestone)
Drogowit Oct 26, 2020 @ 12:32pm
In terms of forge i highly recommend falador artisan workshop mainly due to earning respect points on the go,
but generally y Lumby and burthorpe are ace
Burnz Oct 26, 2020 @ 8:59pm
you can walk way from Lumbridge not that hard just use your mouse lololololololololooool

Lumby is one of those places that was the foot of many events and became over used. I mean for crying out loud it was used in the last god war between Saradomin and Zamorak. It was virtually destroyed and it was later rebuilt and turned into many event placements due to the giant damage left behind. The overall towns economy there is bad as well. Varrock and Burthrope are much more appeasing nowadays anyway. Js

Back when i first started playing, before all the changes to the map. You start at the castle, but i usually end up leaving the area, start killing some cows, then goblins and then leave the area for Varrock east mining pit, mine some stuff to smelt back at lumbridge and then return to Varrock on the west side of town, get the bars, go across the street to work the metal bars into bronze gear and then iron and then prepare for steel after some major mining and stockpiling.

After that i'd usually wait until i hit level the required attack level for a rune pickaxe, get it from a store at 32k, then head to Varrock west mining pit, because that is where you find coal and start mining what you need.

By the time you are done, you'll be half way out of the beginner phase, somewhere around level 40. None of that requires you to spend very long in Lumbridge.

These days it is a different beast, although it has been a few years since i last played. It may have changed even more since then in Lumbridge.

lol how do you get stuck at lumbridge? It's where you start the game, but there's nothing keeping you there. You can literally just go anywhere else.

There's iron in the mine in the swamp south of Lumbridge IIRC

Hopefully that doesn't count as Lumbridge if you mean the same as OP lol, if it does then there's an iron mine to the south of Varrock

If it happens to be? You just accidentally dug up a four month old thread to post an unrelated question in?

You can see where to find any ore type by clicking the mining skill guide, in your skills tab. Alternatively, type "/wiki iron ore" (without the quotation marks) in the ingame chatbox.
