Runescape down

I keep getting the same error ~ "Runescape received an unexpected response (26). Please try again later, or check the Runescape website for server maintenance."

Any idea on how to fix this?

It gets an update whenever new content is added. Takes a few short minutes for it to go live. Just shut down the client and restart in a few minutes (usually less than 5) and it should work again.

Halloween event went live.

It's still giving that error and it's been a day so that doesn't seem to be it sadly.

Try verifying the game cache then. Runescape is up and running just fine. It could be you were logged in to a world that has since been taken down for maintenance. Try verifying first. If that doesn't help, maybe reinstall the game or try contacting Jagex tech support.

hello. i am receiving the same unexpected response 26 error. how do i fix it? verifying cache did not help.

Got a vpn? If so, make sure its disabled for runescape. It dont like vpns.
