end-game is defo ranged
magic is mid-end game
at least saying it from a perspective of hardcore ironman
you'll need all 3 for slayer and quests
Speaking after maxing
My cash making kills are weak to fire/magic in general, so mage gets the bulk of my time
Range is next most used and Melee firmly in last place
But every player will be different and have different favourite kills so need a different style
unlike some mmo's you don't train one combat you can have it all here and be a expert in all of them on one character
If you intend to quest a lot then the choice is taken from you, you have to train all 3 equally
or at least till level 80ish
*magic enemies are weakest to rangers because of the soft fabric the rangers use for their armor is harder for magic spells to permeate into.
*ranged enemies are weakest to melee users because the rangers soft fabric armor is easily slashed into with a sharp blade or blunt force trauma.
*melee enemies are weakest to magic users because of the armor the melee users typically wear absorbs the magic in the spells like cooking a lobster in its own shell.
-note this is early to mid game, when you get a lot higher in your levels it's all about DPS and this "combat triangle" will start to shrink but by then you will know what works best in a situation.
