Guess you didn't read the part where he said h couldn't login to unlink the account. If the account is locked, you can't unlink.
Right, locked and not just banned (I know the above works for a banned account).

If you go through this for locked accounts, it says ETA response is 24 hours.
As it has been such a long time, when i tried to connect to an account with steam, I put in my email address and not the username... that email address is already associated with my old account though which is what i think is causing the problem....
So, when I now try and log in with steam, it tried to log in using my email address and doesnt work, but I am unable to change my log in details as my steam is linked with an account using an email address that doesnt work.
Meanwhile, when trying to log in on the website using the email address, nothing is found. If I try to log in via steam it says "To protect your security, your account has been locked.". If I try to unlock this, I need to enter an email address which I have done, it says an email has been sent but every time no email arrived in any of my folders (inbox, junk, searching etc).
Lastly, no matter what one tries to do, there is no actual help service or contact.
I guess there will be no RuneScape for me, I know i could download it from the website but its just not the same for me.

I did this myself for my account and they answered within a day!
