However, there is a lot of content that can be played in co-op. There's a skill called Dungeoneering[runescape.wiki] that is designed around co-op play. You can play it alone or party with up to 3 of your friends. There also are bosses that you can defeat as a group.
If you are wanting to play with friends DO NOT! make an Ironman account. Ironman accounts while observable to other players and vice verse, for the most part cannot participate in co-op, trade, and most minigames.

I'm purely new to this world. I heard about it long ago but it got shut down. Now I want to play with friends. Is there anything else you want to warm me about.
Edit :Also that link is the old wiki, I'd suggest you use the new one at https://runescape.wiki and not the one with fandom in the url.
Also if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Don't fall for any scams or players that "give" you free stuff.
