Linux version?
With steam release will jagex be releasing a proper linux client? Has anyone tested the current client with proton?

The RS3 NXT Client already runs natively on Linux. On Arch Linux you can just grab it from the AUR and it'll work fine out of the box; on Ubuntu I remember having to do a few workarounds to get it working properly.

not quite, I am running arch and both the aur version and snap package have had lots of troubles with the sound stuttering and such, sometimes at launch, sometimes after the client has been open for a while, it's real annoying, I've tried adjusting the latency in pulse config but nothing seems to totally fix it, sound stutter comes at random with any latency, just hoping the steam client gets a proper look into for linux machines

I tried this game for several hours, packaged Flatpak, in Manjaro, it worked out-of-the-box for me, without problems.

I would like to have it Steam for Linux version.

Linux has been an ongoing issue for a few years now. Most people I know are able to play with no issues. Some have to struggle a bit and I've maybe met 1 or 2 people that are unable to play at all on Linux.

yes because the game devs were lazy and didn't do a great job, if they fixed the issue it wouldn't be one. it has nothing to do with Linux as the issue.

I would recomment installing it from flatpak. Runs almost perfectly.

No need, the game works in proton fine now also why would I use the flatpak when I could either just install the native version or better yet run the game in Steam
