OSRS vs RS3

Seeing a lot of toxicity on here about how RS3 is bad and OSRS is good and vice versa. That's a really good way to make sure new people coming here for the first time, or even returning players, just stay away.

I've been playing since 04, so I feel the OSRS nostalgia. I play it on and off and play RS3 mainly. Why does everything have to be so elitist? If you like the OSRS feel that's cool, if you like the RS3 feel that's cool too. Aside from combat the games are quite similar with RS3 being slightly less grindy imo.

My point is, just cool it.
-OSRS is coming to steam as well.
-More players is better for both games.
-Both games are great in different ways.
-MTX exist. Yes, almost exclusively for cosmetics. Please. Stop spamming "MTX GARBAGE GAME"
-Nobody wants to join a toxic community.

It's a very one sided hatred of rs3 in osrs community which is quite pathetic, they really need to chill. its not helping both communities much less jagex if their community is gatekeeping harder than the DMZ in Korea

There's a lot. Honestly you should get into RS3 first, then maybe give OSRS a little go.

You know what's worse than MTX? Turning people off from the game by being toxic. And yeah, almost exclusively for cosmetics. I don't see the joke. Yes you can buy TH keys, but you're not going to get anything substantial unless you buy an absolute ton of them.

Simply pointing it out isn't toxic, acting like it's the end of the world is. I don't like MTX, so I play ironman. There's a difference between informing people that they're there and trying to steer people away from the game because of it. You phrase it like i can just hit 'Purchase' and get massive exp or something. You can't. If you want a decent amount of anything you need to buy a lot of keys. Some people will, but it's not just as simple as "buying exp or items"

Basically, OSRS started out as a snapshot of the game in 2007 - including the graphics & combat of the time. It was released because people couldn't deal with a combat system rework that made combat more intricate than just prayer flicking, and that mentality has stayed with the majority of OS players since then.

They're both fun games in their own right, it's just that OSRS players will jump at the throats of anyone who says anything even remotely positive about RS3, and as such, are gonna reviewbomb the ♥♥♥♥ out of the game once it actually comes out.

All that they're going to accomplish is pushing a large group of players who might want to try the game out away.

as far as i can tell OSRS is horrific graphics, a more pure experience, and a badge your cooler than people who play RS3, which has somewhat acceptable graphics but maybe more MTX and a less hardcore experience.

Pretty sure both communties are horrific.
