Combination Staff Prices Are Crazy
-Dust Battlestaff letting you using Earth/Air spells for (mostly)free, along with Crumble Undead? Like 17k
-Mist Battlestaff letting you use Water/Air spells for free, but with no Crumble Undead and seemingly about the same drop accessibility? 77k
-Smoke Battlestaff for Fire/Air, with Smoke spells and only one drop chance available? 2mil+

Like, I can understand the Smoke Battlestaff being expensive due to the above, but why the major difference between Dust and Mist when they're largely the same due to the Enemy Weakness reworks, outside of Dust being cheaper even though it has Crumble Undead?

Fire is the highest level spell of a given tier in the standard spellbook. That means they give the most base xp per cast of their tier. Most people buy Smoke Battlestaves to splash high-level fire spells for afk magic xp.
dust staffs are dropped by dust devils which are farmed a lot more often than waterfiends, on top of being far easier to kill, so there's a bigger supply of dust staffs which makes them cheaper

the smoke staff has a hidden +10% accuracy & damage bonus for standard spells, on top of requiring 93 slayer for the boss that drops it

Seems a bit silly to spend 2mil+ just to train a stat faster, but then thinking about it for even a second and you realize that's......that's kinda the entire game.

It's specifically the 1/4000 drop that makes the Mist variant more expensive? Are the 'Superior' spawns really that bad to make those sub-1/400 drop rates not factor in?

And the Smoke staff having a hidden bonus the others don't get is just cheating, where's the justice for all the others? :v
Smoke staff being used a lot in pvp for obvious reasons (bonus damage etc) and being relative cheap for what it offers.

Dust staff has niche use, i only used it at ZMI altar when doing runecrafting. Crumble undead? Huh? Oh that spell... lul

and...

Mist... why would someone use it? @@

Its all about usefulness, rarity and demand.

Edit: Mostly its rarity and demand, cause some things arent as useful as what you pay for.

All elemental spells now deal the same amount of damage. Fire Surge does the same amount of damage as Wind Surge.

Doesnt change the fact that fire spells gives most exp while afk splashing.
