How long until a ban appeal is viewed?

Hello, I tried to go back into the game after so long, but I couldn't apperantly I was banned in 2020 for "Macroing Major", I never cheated in the game nor did I use bots, from what I understand my account got hacked, I wrote an appeal and have been waiting for 5 days now, any idea how fast it is?

The current ETA is up to 7 working days, but it could take longer. Jagex security will review your appeal during normal office hours Monday - Friday at some point. You could be waiting several weeks, so you will need to be patient.

Not: Being "hacked" is never a valid excuse for an account to violate Jagex policies. You are always responsible for your account which is why you should keep it secure, avoid sharing it, and keep your device(s) secure at all times.

Fair enough, yeah I really don't know what happened to the account again it was in 2020, so god knows what happened with it, but yeah, I'll keep waiting I suppose

Oh, I don't mind resarting all over again, I would be pretty lost in what to do anyway, would probably just go mining and smelting/fishing cause I just do that when I'm bored. I just hope I can use the same email or whatever since I wanna play it on steam, and it connects through the steam one

You should be able to. All you would have to do is change the email address linked to the banned account as well as unlink it from Steam.


Just make sure your email address is fully secure with 2FA and other security tools available to you (for example, physical security key).

Why does the so called really good "macro detection system" get people banned when humans are faster better and more accurate or do you not understand how much better people are than a botting system?

I think people use bots so they get resources for them, while they are away or doing something else

Wrong, appeals are automated no one at jagex is actually looking at them, the best course of action is Email support directly, never use the appeal option its useless (litterly).

the detection system is extremly primitive, the "detection system" mainly checks 2 things time you stay logged in and how much you press the same pixel in a certain time frame. thats why botting is so easy in osrs. also even if youre "banned" for a macro the ban itself cant boot you out of the game so you will stay ingame untill you hit the maximum login time and then get locked out. ive been a botter i been there i still do from time to time.

but im on a break right now since i dont play this game with its pronoun stuff. but i can tell you i know some huge chinese operations and those are still in game. 2 of those you might even seen the woodcutting bots in f2p and edgevile furnace crafting bots.

All is well, I just made a whole new account, the only sad thing about it, is that I had friends on that friendlist and a red crown and other goodies, but oh well, all is well c:
