Runelite thru Steam with Jagex account

listen, my dumbass upgraded to a Jagex account just so I could get them damn fancy boots. Now I can't launch Runelite thru steam, it says I have to use the Jagex launcher. Am I being dumb or is there a legit fix to this?

not as far as I know. when you change your account to a jagex account it de-links it with steam.

Just enter the following into the 'launch options' box:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Jagex Launcher\JagexLauncher.exe" %command%

It works perfectly. Either your launcher isn't installed in the same directory, or you're not entering the script properly.

all it does is open the launcher. Doesn't track hours or do anything thru steam

there is no steam version of runelite, all you can do it launch it through steam.

yes i know, but now that I have a jagex account I cannot launch runelite through steam anymore.

well idk how you ever launched runelite through steam... but it must have been some sort of hacky thing as there is no steam version of runelite?

technically kinda a hack... and judging by how it doesn't seem to work anymore it wasn't intended to work like that.

Yes: it opens the Jagex Launcher, from which you can launch RuneLite and keep the Jagex Launcher minimised. Steam then tracks the hours you play for as long as the Jagex Launcher is open.

whaaaaat?! maybe I'm doing something wrong then. Anytime I change the launch option to what you posted it just opens the jagex launcher and automatically quits out steam. Any ideas? That'd be great if I could get it to work.

Are you putting the command in the Old School RuneScape 'launch options' box, or that of the Steam desktop icon? It needs to be the former.

Im having troubles with this too. before i had the game launch the runelite launcher using the launch command. But now setting the launch command to run the official jagex launcher results in steam no longer recognizing the game as running. very curious.
