The game magically forgot my password and i was forced to upgrade to the JagexAccount to reset my password to the same password and now i can no longer login with Steam..
I have to download the JagexLauncher to login..

The hell is going on.

*I have had to click a check box to verify i am human and received the verification email many times since using the JagexLauncher.
It is very very weird.. like their security computer has a virus.

Everything i do right now needs an Email verification..
I have had to verify my email about 15 times trying to get my account back.
Account recovery says no such email/account exists..

Just lost my account to the password recovery system.. its gone..
Upgrading to the JagexAccount is a nightmare, dont do it.

Attempting to get through their support is a wall of input boxes the expands the more i input into them.

I am now unable to login to my account using steam.
And i am not able to login to the game without using their launcher.

What a giant waste of time this is.

It's fine for everyone else who had no problems with it. It's not Jagex's fault that you messed up.

It's fine for everyone else who had no problems with it. It's not Jagex's fault that you messed up.

I didnt change anything, i logged in one day and it made me need a Jagex Account that now needs me to use their Launcher.

lol... why did you even have a password with steam? because they forced you to in order to complete the game?

I said it wasn't "safer" to have all this authentication nonsense, now look; you're account has been hacked by jagex.

I wanted to try RuneLite, that's why i was using their support from their website in the first place.

oh, guess I missed that part.

so what's the problem? thought they made the launcher support runelite when they decided to officially support runelite?

Yes.
But now i have to use the launcher, i cannot use steam to play anymore.
It's like it linked it and everytime i try it sends me to the webpage where it sends an email with a code that i need to verify and then that sends me to the launcher.

you never could use steam to play through runelite though?

that's generally how games on steam with their own account system work, once you disconnect it from steam they don't have a system to re-connect it.

You are repeating what i said.

My attempt at trying RuneLite from the osrs steam account locked me out of my steam account and needing to only use the JagexAccount.
It now has nothing to do with Steam.
The process it has setup is a horrible one that has you verify your email repeatedly and then acts like it has no idea what account youre talking about if you use their support services.

RuneLite is superior to anything Jagex has made unfortunately.
