Why is runescape old school never translated into other languages?
I see that many ask that jagex release the official HD version, or even put more raids or more weapons, but I think that jagex should add more languages to the game, with that it opens up more possibilities for people who do not know English to play runescape

I don't know if it is still the case but they translated RuneScape (now RuneScape 3) into German and I think maybe French. I don't know if that has been maintained. I can only assume it is alot of work to do it with OS and they are simply not trying to target audiences that speak other languages.

I mean, it is easier to make the graphics engine to make it look more beautiful with HD, than to add more languages to the game? that osrs is simply text, in rs3 they are text and voices ...

Try to imagine how much text there is, I'm sure it is many thousands of lines at least. Incidentally really if you are going to support other languages you will want to be able to do it programmatically - which if it wasn't planned for from the beginning, is extra work too.

Ultimately though it just comes down to if they want to spend time and resources on it. I checked the other day and they do still maintain translations for 3 different languages other than English for RS3 so who knows? Maybe they are working on it right now without saying anything. Personally I don't think so but it isn't impossible, they have been all about getting more people playing OSRS after all.

It's not "learn English and that's it". You can't try to bring people in by saying that, because you show that you kind of hate other countries that aren't English or something like that. (people get offended fast nowadays)

I honestly do not think they are working to put other languages, since runescape old school has been around since 2013 and they never released an update of even a language other than English, I understand that there may be thousands and thousands of codes to translate but so many codes so that from 2013 to 2021 do not take out any other language?

What on Earth? "hate other countries that aren't English" ???

So according to you, Jagex needs to waste their time, money, resources for X language implementation which may appear to be not possible and may cause lots of problems in the progress, just because some people (probably minority) didn't learn basic English?

If the game is translated into Spanish for example, people who speak Spanish will play the game, maybe they like the game, and maybe they just maybe add money to the game.

OK, let's imagine Jagex will add Spanish language... how many people will use it (besides gold farmers)? And how many upset people this game will get that they didn't add [insert random language]?

One language - everyone is equal - learn English - no problems.

it's an anti-botting measure.
I just realized this too.

It's actually baffling runescape is sitting comfortable around #2 for most active mmorpg right now and theyre not even translated into anything other than english and every other mmorpg is - wild lol TRANSLATE WHEN?! (hopefully after bot problem is fixed)
