New Player with Steam OSRS issues...
I started playing OSRS about three weeks ago for the first time since elementary school (18/19 years?) and I must say I have been having a LOT of fun. Since I am on medical recovery I have a lot of time to play. With over 100 hours logged I really wanted to get some additional help with things like price checks on my inventory items or Runelite. While these things can be added, through some short video help, you can't use them through the Steam client.

The Steam client makes it so you have to make an account through Steam as their base creation process upon the first download. This means the following:

1. You can only have one account.
2. You cannot get easier technical support from Runescape itself, and when you do there is an issue since you're crossing over two companies.
3. You can't have access to things like Runelite or other addons unless your account was created on the Runescape website itself; which makes some problems downloading via Steam.

These issues are not a problem in the beginning but since I am at a higher level now, these things would be a lot more convenient for game play and I would definitely like to make a different styled account to try things like PKing (Player Killing), a pure mage, a pure archer, etc.

If anyone knows a way around this I would greatly appreciate it because right now this is quite disappointing and really makes me sad that I bought a membership; which can't be refunded through Steam since it is not their company.

Thanks to anyone who can assist me with this,

oh but no, u are not forced to make a steam specific account, you can link an old or other account that you already had

It's really frustrating because I paid for 3 months of membership and I feel like I won't get what I want out of the game now.

Go to the account management tab in-game and hit "link email" or whatever it says to that effect.

Thanks to anyone who can assist me with this,

1. Use a different client for a second account.

2. What support issues are you having that cant be resolved? If its the membership thing, you have never ever been able to refund membership. Even before steam. Steams membership in non-reoccurring meaning you can only buy it once on steam. After that steam membership runs out you can purchase membership from the runescape site.

3. You can setup an email with your new steam runescape account after your characters been made. After which you can log in on other clients.
