That isn't true. Most people are playing on Runelite on OSRS. currently 57k players in total

if jagex worked with runelite to add a free "DLC" that replaced the client with runelite I'm sure the numbers would increase drastically, right now there is a work-around to use runelite but I don't think people bother

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you just replace the steam application with Runelite and use it instead?

yeah u can, u gotta rename runelite.exe to osclient.exe , but before that you copy all the content from runelite folder to the steam install of osrs, bin/win64 (paste there).

most of the players use runelite, hell even a bunch of developers, not everyone uses runelite through steam and because of that the numbers (on steam) seem low
