Please consider running the runelite version through steam. It will count towards the steam player count as well as allow you to still use the steam overlay/achievements. It doesn't hurt and just helps the overall support of the game in general. (still works even after there is a update, you only have to do this once)

it's a 3rd party client that has been approved by the devs. It provides the game with a TON of quality of life changes and graphical changes. Once you try it, you can't go back. Make sure you download it from the correct site as there are many fake look alikes that try to steal your account info.

if you replace the steam version with runelite u get to have achievements, tracks your gameplay time, can take screenshots and it shows others you play. If you care for that then i dont see why not,

No, thats just the default install location for Runelite. If you were to install it in another location, you would point to that location when you add the path to your launch settings.
