To New Players
Jagex sells there own currency to players they let players buy an item that is used for either membership or to sell to another player for GP. While also taxing the sale of the item in GP. This created a whale economy for the game decreases the value of every action you do in game. Similar to Entropia but you cant cash out.

1. If following price inflation of membership your likely to see an increase in membership price in the next year or this year.

2. This game is basically an idle game you manually have to start each action on until your in the 100 combat range and then its more engaging.

3. Get off steam and use runelite with most other players. it has quest helpers, and other addons similar to wow addons.

4. Bots are a heavy influence on the game get used to it or don't play. There is a system of bots that watch your player like a CCTV camera network valuing your character to see if your a good target for scams and to be tracked in wilderness for valuable items.
(i recommend looking up sirpugger even though he unintentionally advertises the bots hes fights).

5. You realistically need 2 accounts. Other option is to interrupt your Mains experience gains to resupply.

6. Farm agility first thing. first all other skills are worthless till you like 89 agility (200 hours of going through a series of tracks for 99). Without it you will constantly tax your self on stamina potions.

7. You can't efficiently make gold and exp at the same time (refer to crafting calculators on the wiki and its almost always negative GP gain). You need gp to do the faster leveling methods.

8. The best gold farming method for new players is watching streamer and trying to get in to drop parties. Some even have "games of skill" for paid sub's were they dish out huge amounts of items and gp. By having it as a game of skill they circumvent twitches rules and jagex currently to RWT.

9. Quest are enormously important to start early and do them as available and optimally. Large amounts of pvp and pve endgame item are locked behind multiple quest chains.
If you level up and then have to farm quests for 20+ hours (mostly walking) your gonna have a tedious time.

10. A majority of combat oriented quests pose little to no challenge until you hundreds of hour in the game.

Now to people who like to dabble in pvp.

Late game pvp is pretty bad outside of LMS because you will likely loose your stuff to people using AHK (autohotkey) to do inhuman combos that there's no reasonable response to and then just instantly teleport away if they fail the insta kill. Which means your need to reset your stats/health costing supplies.

If you want to engage in low level pvp you will need to make new accounts frequently. You can not stop experience gain from combat. The system is taxing like most in this game.

Any area were valuable items that also has pvp will be swarmed by people with multiple account that will keep coming at you with basically no items of value to eat your supplies so they can kill you through attrition if you cant run away.

Until recently RWTing gp farmers in Venezuela basically became serf's to "protection clans". This meant you pay them gp or $ so you can play the game in that area of the game or they just wouldn't let you farm in the area with out instantly being attacked. It was horrible and went on for over a year in the reverent caves (0 requirement area with high gold, pvp, exp, and lots of bots.)

10/10 game though would spend 3k+ hours again to do it all over

the bot networks that categorizes your value is probably the scariest thing here lol. Streamers have to deal with this from both them and people stream sniping. I don't think its possible for them to fix pvp for osrs.

1. Not sure about that.

2. True you can idle most of combat but you lose loot then too if you are not there to collect it.

3. No arguments there but i would choose not to use quest assist and try it on yourself before looking for help.

4. Just use G.E and don't manually trade with anyone. Also as long you stay out of wilderness you are fine.

5. why?

6. Not necessary really.

7. You can mine and make money efficiently. Everyone needs coal or other ores. Just don't power mine iron and you make money.

8. I made more money just by jumping over worlds and collect everything that other people labels as "junk" rather than waiting drop party. Also i made my first couple millions just by doing something else and some high lvl guy just comes drops me money.

9. I personally trying to lvl up myself until i meet the requirements for each and every quest before starting them.

10. Got nothing.

2. most mobs dont drop loot worth picking up at levels most people are going to give up playing this game at

3. this is a mmorpg, guides are normal and and not using quest assist is fun if your here for the rpg element and not the mmo part which takes a certain amount of analytical thought to figure out how to use their time.

4. i should of been more clear. they have ai that watches your player model for you to put on good items, so like a craws bow. and will make a profile of your characters value through seeing it multiple times of time with different items

5. Travel distance vs needed supplies. if you stop fighting to get them you loose exp perhour and it takes thousands of hours to get a character to max level not max gear. You could hire a runner at 2-3m gp an hour but why not just make a 2nd account with a 5m bond for a running alt

6. ok lol no short cuts for you.

7. mining is heavily botted you are now competing against npc in mmo market,
Getting from 60-65 mining would generate less than a mil from basically any normally mined materials.

8. it cost 10's millions of to max out a skill. Streamers have taken to circumvention to basically sell items. You dont need to do these things but the reward of getting a 50m cash stack from streamers to play marbles and watch there stream is going to be efficient in the thousands of hour it takes it to reach end game.

2. For me anything can be loot worthy but i get your point.

3. Ok.

4. Ok never heard about that, i very rarely wear anything that good so i guess i'm ok. + i never pvp.

5. I would rather just run myself that make it that complicated. I mean i collect loot anyway mind as well take it to the bank and resupply at the same time before heading back. Everyone on their own way.

6. I mean shortcuts are cool and all but there is no need to get it that high. around 75-80 is good enough.

7. That is of course if i'm selling my ores and not use it for smithing which i am. That is still profit. Small profit but still.

8. Chances of winning that is quite small however. But again who ever wants to try their luck.
