It's not frozen as there is an effect to the progress bar but it never moves
Did you do anything special to get Steam osrs running or is your Proton/WINE configuration modified in any way?
because thousands of people a day are asking about steam C++ osrs on linux and as far as I can tell you are the only person reporting that the game runs for them. people can at best make it to the first menu otherwise. did you use "Log-in with existing account" or "Create new account via Steam" at the first menu?
that is my issue as well.
It worked for me without doing anything special, just the default settings and the default Proton that comes with Steam. My brother got it working too, not sure if he had to do anything. I'm on Ubuntu 20.10, I'm not sure what my brother's using, probably Arch.
Does the Steam overlay (shift+tab) work inside OSRS once you launch it? Because when I clicked the login button the first time, the Steam overlay came up with a browser to log in to my account. That all worked fine for me. But maybe something is broken in the overlay on your system?
If that doesn't work, if you can use a Windows VM or something to link your OSRS account to Steam, then you should be able to play with Proton after as your account will already be signed in.
2) Also I don't think the hedges of the tree gnome village maze are showing correctly on the minimap (as with bridges).
The minimap colours are also different (I am using the same game brightness on both clients).

Edit: Should clarify that the screenshot above is a comparison of the vanilla client (downloadable from the website) and the Steam client.
Screenshot - website URL blanked out as it's some random Infernal Cape advertising bot

I verified this to be a bug with the Steam client specifically by logging into the vanilla client using two accounts (one of which is linked to steam) and typing some text on both accounts.
Both accounts are added to eachother's ignore list.
When typing text with both accounts logged into the vanilla client, I could see nothing appearing above each character on the opposite client's game window.
When typing text using the account logged into the vanilla client, the text is still visible to the account logged into the Steam client despite the other character being added to the ignore list.

When reporting an account, I consistently get the following two messages, whether I am currently in a clan chat or not. The only exclusion in which I don't get the message, is if I've already received it within the last 60 seconds.
Actual
Thank-you, your abuse report has been received..
Changes will take effect on your clan in the next 60 seconds.
Expected

Environment:
- RuneLite / Java edition (non-steam)
- the positioning of health bars relative to hitsplats is a bit off. Especially in large monsters. For examples, when fighting the alchemical hydra the health bar covers hitsplats at certain angles.
- the idle log-out timer is noticeably shorter than what I'm used to.
(in Event Viewer unloaded module is random dll, but also some time it just game osclient exe)
