what are some things you want from rs3 in osrs?
I know in general we dont like rs3 over here but i have fond memories of some things that haven't yet been added and i hope we get them eventually

#1 dungoneering. I love it, i want it, i need it. no it isn't "just a minigame" and that's just the more reason to add it as a skill and flesh it out even more with extra content
#2 the other new skills too, especially arecheology is very fun, i could take or leave divination
#3 better graphics; i come here for the correct runescape gameplay, the super low draw distance and the blocky floors? i could do without
#4 tower of dominion: this is a super cool minigame where you gain points to spend by killing the bosses from quests you have beaten, its the only way to refight quest bosses and the rewards are cool
#5 zombie implings. the ones that drop lots of bones when you catch them

nothing. I want OSRS to be OSRS... that's the whole point of OSRS.

if you slowly update it to be RS3 you might as well just play RS3...

It's not abandoned but largely it's the rewards and resource dungeons.

Like charming imp which gathers dropped charms or converts them into exp. Bone crusher
(which OSRS copied but weakened significantly) that converts bones to exp and can be further enhanced in other ways. Demon horn necklace which restores prayer every time you get prayer exp which coupled with the bone crusher can give you effectively infinite prayer on a lot of slayer tasks. The gold accumulator that auto picks up any dropped gold but consumes a small percentage of it.

There is bunch of passive permanent upgrades you can get like a 10% chance to get seeds back on a harvest. A 2% chance every time you make a metal bar you will be refunded the ore. 1/8 chance a potion will be mixed twice as fast and a 1/10 chance you will save an ingredient. Etc... They are all small permanent buffs but they absolutely add up over a long period of time especially if you have other effects to stack them with

Then there are chaotic gate stone which is combined with a special archaeology relic to create the abyssal gate stone. Which unlocks a relic that when equipped allows you to teleport straight into the center of the abyss drastically speeding up abyssal runecrafting.

On top of this you have the potion recipes you can find while dungeoneering which unlock a bunch of potent potions such as the perfect plus potion which has the effect of every single perfect juju potion or overload salve which is overload + prayer renewal + super antifire + antifire + super antipoison.

Can't forget the resource dungeons either. Little pocket dungeons all over the world you can only enter with the appropriate dungeoneering level. They contain everything from monsters mobs to resources. Monsters that are normally farmed in high amounts so it can be difficult to get a spot like hell hounds. Monsters you could normally only find in the wilderness providing safer alternatives to them. Monsters that are normally locked to Daemonehim such as Frost Dragons and Eddimu which give blood shards for the blood fury (which OSRS copied but OSRS's is waaaay under powered compared to RS3's).

Dungeoneering is basically an immense source of both large and small QoL features, equipments, upgrades, etc.. you name it.
well if you really want to delve deeper into rs3. here we go. rs3 dung had the biggest exploit to ever release known as PAFT. rs3 also is completely pay to win just look up a friends video he got almost max level using only the squeal of fortune and treasure hunter. rs3 also has the lowest player count of any AAA mmorpg on the market. so lets keep old school as it is and keep rs3 far far away from it

You probably shouldn't say things that be proven un-true by a mere google search.

For population RS3 is literally in the top 10 MMO's and it's not far behind OSRS either in placing.
https://mmo-population.com/top/2021

OSRS also has had big exploits, they are fixed just like PAFT was so ancient history, stuff gets through the devs sometimes. RS3 is not completely pay to win, the video your citing is years old given sequel of fortune was removed oh let's see...7 years ago now? This might be a novel concept to you but things can in fact change and get better, and they have.

Which is why OSRS's streamers like A Friend and Sick Nerd have swapped back to RS3, and not just them but a number of others, in fact there has been a notable exodus of players from OSRS moving to RS3 due to OSRS becoming stale and also the streamers helped deconstructing a lot of bad/old info and lies salty/misinformed OSRS players liked to spread.

Also please don't act like people don't pay to win in OSRS. There is a reason it is dealing with an absolutely horrible bot and gold farming epidemic right now. There is a reason VERY recently Jagex's OSRS team needed to restate the rules on people buying services to do things like level their account for them, because it's becoming a serious issue. OSRS's base is full of P2W people they just do it by breaking the rules.

i agree with the message of this at least. osrs will stagnate and die eventually if we don't add new skills or higher levels than 99 or other similar things eventually. i hate the combat and microtransactions, and easy leveling and overly convenient gameplay of rs3, not the content and new skills

I think they should add some steampunk mechs or powered exo-skeletons. Id also settle for slip space drives that you can put on your bronze armor.

Alot of quality of life things I really enjoyed were the rest ability to recover stamina from running as well as everything that came with the HD update back in 08. Dungeoneering without a doubt was my absolute favorite and I enjoyed the urns for helping level skills up. Basically the HD Runescape is what I would hope for because I really do get nostalgic over Dungeoneering and the quality of life updates.

The teleporters to each of the cities was a godsend and also no recharge timer for the Lumbridge teleport!

That would ruin totally ruin the purpose of stamina/energy pots, graceful outfit and a high agility level.

some of that is way too far. i would be enraged if they added unlimited teleports or the ability to click a lodestone and teleport there. a good MMO should not be convenient. level up your magic, do it right

I talked about this in another thread.

I don't like QoL or convenience updates which undermine an existing aspect of gameplay. In the case of the lodestones and the run energy change, they took away a key aspect of what made Magic and Agility feel rewarding. By having the capacity to extend your run energy and unlock the ability to teleport to various parts of the world, it gave a major incentive to training those skills. It was a tangible example of how character progression came through leveling your skills, and the results for doing so were game-changing, particularly in the case of teleports.

RuneScape 3 has eroded or entirely destroyed these elements, and I am not a fan of that. Run energy was one of the biggest traits of Agility, along with shortcuts, and the update to it rendered that worthless, because now you can restore your full energy meter in about one minute. And as for Magic, the lodestones remove a lot of the purpose for there being teleport spells in the first place. Now you aren't unlocking spells to be able to access all of the world quickly, but merely to speed up the teleport animation. There's no real reason to use the spells outside of when you're training other skills, to get faster exp/hr.

What would make those additions feel more balanced would be for them to have kept the 30-minute cooldown on the home teleport spell, and made it so that run energy still restores at the same rate relative to OSRS' version of the mechanic, and restricted the resting mechanic to the musicians scattered around the world. This would allow getting to a major location in the world easier, but still incentivize training those skills in order to reach areas multiple times and explore remote locations.

well i could see a way to add the rest mechanic, unlock it at lv 50 and gain 20 pts max rest potential at each 10 levels. so at 60 agility you could rest to a max of 40 energy
