i have been using that client for a good 1 1/2 years and nothing happend. the only point is if you install any forbidden addons into runelite like macro funktions and what not but the main client is perfectly save!

As far as I can tell. I can't remember exactly, but I think Avast Web Rep said it was safe when I went there. I've also scanned RuneLite with all 3 of my anti-malware programs (as I do with all downloads I'm even remotely unsure of) and it came back clean on all of them. As Troja said, just make sure you're only using approved features/plugins/add-ons so you don't get banned.

To Steam: This post is constructive and on-topic. OP asked if RuneLite's website is safe (and by extension RuneLite itself, I would assume) and that's exactly what I'm discussing here by answering that question. This post is not "derailing" anything, nor does it attempt to "goad" or "bait" anyone in any way, shape, or form.

I'm not going to guarantee anything, obviously, however I highly doubt you'd get banned just for using RuneLite without any additional plugins/features/add-ons as Jagex has stated that RuneLite is allowed within the rules. However, Jagex also reserves the right to change that decision at any time, as it does with the Terms of Service and the official rules themselves as well. I honestly wouldn't worry about RuneLite though, unless you start using unapproved mods/plugins/features/add-ons.

A lot of runelite plugins are actually stuff you could find by looking at the wiki or a web tool, made available inside the client. Since Jagex made an official statement about 3rd party clients, there is some collaboration between both teams to remove rule-breaking extensions from it, such as boss/raid helpers. My advice is to keep runelite updated and you will be fine.

Jagex has confirmed that Runelite conforms to the rules. No threat of a ban

well the side you posted is the real Runelite page and if you ever download it then there and what do you mean with safe? if you have doubt and fear that your account gets hacked then dont install any unoffical plugins.
Yes and I wouldn't play without it anymore. Quality of life +

You already asked that and it's already been answered: Yes RuneLite is safe. Please see the following quotes:

So that question has indeed been answered a couple of times already. I smell a troll trying to start yet another argument about RuneLite's legitimacy. Mods please lock this thread. Everyone else, please stop responding to this thread and let it die. Don't feed the troll.

Unless you create a plug in for runelite which breaks the terms of service; no you will not be banned for using runelite as the runelite team works with jagex to ensure all plugins used follow the terms or service. It is extremely unlikely that jagex will suddenly ban runelite and anyone who uses it as it is a common tool that follows terms of service and many people are playing because of runelite.

In short runelite is not only safe but highly recommended
