New client feature that was never mentioned?
I just noticed a feature of the client that doesn't exist in the vanilla client. If you scroll while hovering on the minimap, the game will actually let you zoom in and out. I did this purely by accident. It seems to be fully functional too. At the maximum zoom out range, you can still click to path to further away destinations (assuming you don't hit the max pathing distance). Minimap icons also disappear, though NPC, player and item dots do not.

I don't ever remember reading about this being a feature that was going to be added, nor have I seen anyone else mention this yet. Was this added by accident? Is it a dev tool that was left in with the latest update? Or perhaps a feature meant for milestone 2 that was left in early?

I'm avoiding using it in case it's something players aren't supposed to have access to yet.

Nice find! I've just logged in to check it myself they definitely never mentioned this - perhaps it snuck into the recent patch by accident or something, since I assume they don't plan to trickle features in.

Played around with it a little bit and I think, though I am purely speculating: This must be a feature intended to be released alongside an increased render distance. If you zoom out, you can see the boundaries of the rendered area.

Yes, this feature snuck in earlier than it was supposed to. Feel free to use it! We'll be adding a couple of options in the settings next week when we intended to support it proper :)

Glad to have confirmation from game staff about this! I just didn't want to possibly use something that players weren't supposed to. After all, I'd hate to be banned for bug abuse. Definitely glad to hear that's it's perfectly fine to use though!
