Here is a copy/paste of how I beat him.
---

Tips :

* Upgrade your deflect skill, as said above (This is the only fight you will really need it in).

* Try to get the dagger/knife as a permanent plague weapon, it drains his green health really fast and does not cost much energy. So slam him with your sword then use the dagger to get him very much hurt.

*STAY CLOSE, otherwise there is a possibility he might do a critical attack.

Good Luck to all.

Now, please keep in mind this was only after I saw a video online of a guy destroying him mostly with dagger plague weapon only and I had ALL upgrades available at that time.

I am aware they nerfed some weapons like the bow for example.

https://youtu.be/ZVfpucXPxE4 some off mt attempts so far.

"No thank you, Turkish, I'm sweet enough."

Last go there was cruel getting spanked in phase 2.

Critique: Only use your claw attack after you've parried his combo (to close the gap and deplete the green bar), nine times out of ten when you use claw at the end of your slash combo he's recovered and gets you when you can't parry. (see first attempt on vid)
Heal if you have Half HP or less (your heal window is after he has dodged back or used the kick combo and knocked you back).
Listen out for the clang when he parries your slashes (see approx 1:38 on vid) because he either dodges back then lunges (or does the kick like approx. 3:22).
Don't get greedy.

Honestly mate you're not too far off.
Just watched Moistrical *Charlie* destroy Odur in his first play-through its so depressing lol

As I said it could have been gradual throughout the level with enemies that do multiple varied combos.
Yea sorry.

They could have learned you a bit more about deflecting and parrying in the first zone of the game before the boss. You are right.
No, they teach you about that before the first actual zone. The thing with odur is his speed and attack variation. Nothing in that areas can prep the player for that.

The optional mission before the final one? After Odur, heck after dealing with most of the faster elite enemies and being spec'd they aren't that hard.
You know what my big issue is with this boss, or any boss that is so damn hard? My ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ADHD. I’ll be enjoying the game. Making progress. Finding the twists and turns of the world. Then bang, hard boss, and forward progress ceases. I know some people enjoy the ‘grind’ of learning to defeat these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but for me, if I can’t do it in under 20ish mins, I’m probably just done with the game at that point. I just get too aggravated by having to do the same thing over and over when all I really want is to get on with exploring and dealing with the regular enemies.

This is why im a huge supporter of ‘easy mode.’ Theyre optional so why do people get angry at the idea? I have a legit medical condition that makes these sorts of things intolerable for me, and so without a mode for people who don’t want to spend 8 hours of playtime grinding a boss, then their game is likely just gonna get refunded.

And let’s no say ‘git gud.’ I’ve been playing video games for 32 years and I have a full time job. I’m as good as I’m gonna get.

Sorry. Long rant I was just really enjoying my time with this game until I hit this roadblock. And now I just have to be done with the game because it will literally drive me insane spending all the time it would take me to beat this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, combined with simply not HAVING that time!
Then why did you purchase the game to begin with. Some games are challenging and want you to learn. Some are about the journey/story, the game is the former. If that’s the issue then I would refund and move on.
I grabbed it because Soulslikes / roguelites / Metroidvania’s are my favorite games. I’ve gotten through all 3 souls games and Bloodborne is the only game I’ve ever gotten a platinum on. I don’t hate hard games at all - I hate brick wall bosses. Well, most bosses if I’m honest, but I never said I was *good* at these games 😝

Those aren’t the same as those though. This plays like sekiro ergo you need to learn to master deflect and speed of combat. Plus those have alternatives to beating bosses like coop.
