Not going to dive into a whole review with pro's and cons but personally I enjoyed Mortal Shell more. I felt the combat in Thymesia is a bit repetitive and the fact you can stun enemies with a combo doesn't feel very soulslike to me.
It's a good game Thymesia, but it feels more like a difficult action-RPG to me rather than a true soulslike.

Dark souls games are difficult action rpgs. Thymesia is more in line with sekiro, id say compared to mortal shell you have more combat options in general but combat pacing is different.

Every soulslike is a difficult action-RPG but not every difficult action-RPG is a soulsike is what I'm getting at ;)

What defines that though? Only difference is the stamina bar, you still die and respawn at check points leaving currency that can be lost upon dying again. It’s why I don’t even use that term anymore.

Mortal shell is definitely a better game. And feels more like traditional Souls gameplay with original and cool harden mechanic, while Thymesia feels like budget Sekiro, which plays quite differently than Souls (focus on deflects).

Also Thymesia has some flaws i dont like- rehashes the same areas over and over, is unbalanced (for example first boss is way overpowered for how early in game he is). Im also not a fan of wounds mechanic, it fells tedious, its like i have to kill every enemy twice (2 bars white and green). As you can figure im really not a fan of Thymesia.

And wasnt a fan of Mortal shell at first, but then it clicked and it was really good game. What i didnt like in MS is how short it is compared to other Souls, and that areas can be convoluted and hard to navigate (imo first area swamp is the worst, looks the same in every direction).
Fortunately you can find fan-made map on internet.

Mortal Shell isn't very long indeed and I do agree the level design early on could be better. But the atmosphere is 100% on point and the gameplay, to me at least, was far more satisfying than anything Thymesia has on offer.
That being said though I don't dislike Thymesia at all. I just think there are better soulslikes out there.

Mortal Shell is actually kind of bad, I wouldn't recommend it as it is in general uninspired, very sluggish, and is blatantly unfinished in some areas. Thymesia does a far better job.

Lmao, nice joke. Especially i love Thymesia's level 'design' of side missions, which is literally the same area you just played in main mission, but you start in the middle and go back to start. Yea it surely looks finished and inspired, lol.

Not all are like that some have some different areas but for the team and the price tag it works.

Mortal Shell feels like an indie student project by comparison.

By the sounds of things, anyone complaining about the rehash level design should check out Nioh. Sounds like the idea of replaying a level but in reverse order is exactly the same thing.

^Thats true. Im not a big fan of Nioh series to be honest. And level design is one of main flaws of this game (for me).

For some side missions sure, but it has way more levels overall. If anything the whole loot system is the worst aspect of nioh.

Mortal shell from the little I have played feels way slower then Thymesia. You can decide whether that's a pro or con for you.

Not sure however why everyone compares Thymesia with Sekiro, it plays much more like Bloodborne imho.
