mortal shell is more like dark souls, slower.
in mortal shell you gotta remember how long your attack and enemies is and calculate in advance the wind up time so you know when it'll hit so you time it right.
in thymesia you combo attacks+claw attack with deflect/dodges much more often and fast. it's not as quick as sekiro but much more intense than dark souls or elden ring.
both great and fun games tho, mortal shell & thymesia.
This games good but Mortal Shells dlc gives it actual replayability which is much more than I can say for this game, this game don't even got a NG+.
While Thymesia, I wanted to play it the first time I saw it.
But that's just me. I'm sure they're both good games of their own
you almost never dodge in sekiro. here you can either dodge or deflect or mix of both. however, even if u go for only deflects it's sitll not as often or fast as sekiro. I put nearly a thousand hour in sekiro by now on my alt. playing resurrection mod charmless is still far from this game but, true, game's sitll closer to sekiro and bloodborne than elden ring or dark souls.
This one takes after Sekiro a bit more, no Stamina, highly aggressive. I think it's more fun than Mortal Shell, but at the moment it has less content, also lacks voice acting which, Mortal shell had really great VAs.
The levels are more bite-sized, not mazely connected like MS too so if you hated that (A lot of people did, i don't, learning map is part of the fun for me) you might like this more. I like it more cause i like Sekiro and its rare to see games inspired by it, before this one it was just that Star Wars game.
Visually it's also less polished, but it runs better, MS still has that enemy pop-up issue to this day.
Anyway, hope they still work on this, its like, one or two updates of being pretty great, right now its fun but a tad rough on the smaller details, again the VA thing, sometimes boss talks and all there is is subtitles which no way in heck i could read that mid-battle.
Oh music is aight, tad forgettable, but i felt the same with MS except the alternative soundtrack, that one was neat in MS.
It does not compare at all. Thymesia is super fun and fast, and just a blast.
