Please add the hitbox viewer as a permanent game mode
Hello,

Some players in the NA samsho discord noticed that a debug menu was made available to players in a recent update. It could be made visible by pressing "J". It was very recently removed in another update. One of the features this debug menu included was a hitbox viewer.

Please consider making the hitbox viewer permanently available for players to access via training mode or another game mode. Hitbox knowledge is essential to high level gameplay and screen shots of move hitboxes are essential information for the documentation and preservation of the game.

Having this officially available would made samsho more accessible and easy to learn for new players and increase engagement for longtime players. I plead SNK and Code Mystics to at least consider making it accessible again.

Built in hitbox display and frame data tools are some of the simplest and most valuable learning resources fighting game devs could include, considering they're a standard development resource and obviously already in the game. It's very frustrating that devs insist on hiding this information from us and that it was patched out so quickly. This should be a standard feature for all fighting games, and SNK should take the time to add it to both Samurai Shodown and KOF XV.

This is a feature that should be standard in all fighting games nowadays.

I agree with and endorse keeping the viewer.
100% needs to be a normal feature

I feel like catering to hitbox enthusiasts is the least of this beta's concerns. No disrespect, but given the major issues they've had...there are bigger fish to fry. They should focus on netcode issues specifically without catering to specific control preferences

The thing is, if the feature to view hitboxes (and potentially frame data) is already in the game, there's no good reason for them *not* to add that as an option in training mode.

Features like this likely aren't in Code Mystic's contract. It's a job for SNK to handle and doesn't affect the ongoing beta. It just happened to come up during the beta, but even that is only because SNK's still treating basic features like it's the 1990s when this (and rollback, functional lobbies, etc) should've been in at launch.

My guess is that is was accidentally compiled into the beta by a developer. Someone forget to remove a setting and it snuck into the patch. Did anyone take a video or screenshot of what it looked like?

Just want to say that within hours of access we gained a ton of information that meaningfully improves both our understanding of characters and our ability to teach those characters and related interactions to other players. The process of pulling that information out of the game and documenting it is somewhat technical, sure (could be streamlined), but being able to distill and share that knowledge with others going forward is huge for helping other players learn and improve in the future. What took us years will take future players months or weeks.
