Friend's Pass?
Devs should consider adding a Friend's Pass like It Takes Two has.

You need a buddy to play this game so it should be a given that one copy of the game should be enough to play together with your friend, just as if it were local co-up.

It might actually hurt sales cause every potential buyer knows they have to convince a friend to buy a copy too, which can be tough. Due to that, they are less likely to buy the game themselves.

Our team has already considered this option but decided to go for no friend pass. Instead both players need to buy a copy (like the previous games), but in return the prices are much lower than a game like It Takes Two.

What about adding a two pack for future games? That way you can make one transaction and gift the extra copy.

Every time I've had to buy two copies of these games I had to go through extra steps with my bank because it thinks I am being double charged.

two packs aren't an option for Steam, we would have loved that!

yes the price is lower than it takes two but these two games cannot be compared since one is AAA and the other is a little more than an indie title. Whats this game's price in relation to the other we were here games on release day? If they are all about the same then this is a moot point and yall haven't helped those of us who need to buy 2 copies at all.

But it was in the past. Did valve remove this "feature" for developer?
Kinda sad if it is true, I loved those 2- or 4-packs for me and my friends.

It is an option.
Oh, never mind I'm stupid. It's a legacy thing.
"Note: It is not possible to create packages that grant multiple copies of an application (e.g. "4-packs"). While there are legacy examples of this on Steam, they are no longer being created."

Developer's are 100% missing out here. Whole reason I buy games like these is because of the idea of being able to play through with a friend. Hard enough with how money is to even afford It Takes Two. Even then It Takes Two is a long game. If I wanted cheaper games like this I'd just buy Escape Simulator or something. So it's no wonder you guys experience shade. Especially since I did enjoy the two free ones.

i just bought it takes two cause of it is possible to play with ANY friend you aren´t binded on one person life goes on and some person comes and some goes i would pay more for a game like the we were here-series (much more liked the lets plays on youtube) just for the possible to play with my cousin, my friends or someone else.
and how should i change the mind of a free to play gamer.
i dont see why i should buy a coop game i cant play with everyone just with randoms or guys i´ve forced to buy it
hope it will be added at least to the old once cause i want to buy it but this is the only reason why i don´t
No friend pass means we'd pay $40 for a game that has about 10 hours of playtime is a bit much, especially if it's an indi game.

Games like "It takes two" and "a way out" may cost more, but they are also fully fledged story games with voice actors, actual acting and in-depth gameplay. They also feature the friends pass making the game playable with everyone.
It takes two also won Game of the year and other awards, and is frequently down for 75% off at $9,99. Comparing we were here forever to an actual award winning game is insulting.

It's consumer unfriendly design to make a game 2 players only and then locking the game behind being bought twice. It might sound great at first to double-dip as a dev to get money twice, but in reality this keeps at least three times as many people from buying the game at the first place.

A solution Wolfenstein Youngblood did was having a friend pass for people who bought the more expensive Deluxe edition, thats fair i think! But asking people to buy the same game for full price two times is a bit unreasonable imo!

They must be, since isn't that what Don't Starve Together does? Also I know four packs definitely exist

Thanks for the thread. I was about to buy the whole franchise and convince a friend to play it with me, but I know I first have to convince my friend to buy it... Too bad.
