Is it that bad as the reviews?

I wanna scratch that musou itch since I've own most of Musou title on this platform. I'm on the fence for this one because of the reviews. I didn't buy vanilla 9 because of the reviews too. Is it that bad?

Yes hell it so bad you better off just playing 9s trash if you absolute must play a new title some reason or really really just want to admire the looks of the land and or collect giant mystical beast bosses and just can't replay 8Empires if Empires was what you wanted.

Otherwise prepare for same exact battles that are all sieges only with tiny tweak of if want to avoid some moral lose kill sorcerers/bandits/animal handler/... before a timer then towards end of battle have some moral thing happen regardless because you know it wants to make the battle semi hard despite 9s combat being largely just smack them until it says press X to instant kill anyways and use random "card"/"skill" when needed to avoid getting hurt or to heal (since heals have otherwise been removed).

It offers 0 over 8e and loses a ToN from cosmetics - custom scenarios+factions - modes - free officer - ... unless you count the moral ("good/evil") which is handled weak any ways to point I would bet the first Empires that did it was as good if not better. (your 1st "evil" scene is a dog wondering why the F you saved it from being run over, as it was trying to kill itself and escape the trash game)-> no joke.

its not that bad but I also havent played many Dynasty Warriors games. Most of the bad reviews come from people who have played the others

ie I never really had any "apple pies" so idk how to judge one and if you eaten many other apple pies... its the worst one but If its 1 the only pies you ever eaten it not necessarily bad..).
Though understandable you miss that, since you seemingly missed what he said.... or very least if you wanted to try to walk back basically said he would find it bad... given "those that played many others found it bad"...

It's fun for the first couple of playthroughs. The 30% discount isn't enough, wait for 75%.

That true though imo it hard to find anything (within reason) that is not fun at first.
The whole feeling of this is new/different pretty sure some chemical thing that most get.

Though have to say idk If they ever would do that massive of a sale, I mean many their previous titles are still full price or near it (not to mention their dlcs).

Individual publishers choose if their games go on sale and for how much. Valve does not control that.

I thought it was fun the first day. (ps5)

Day 2: Instantly dropped off, to the degree that I actually hated playing it and felt my skin crawling. Like a disease something kept screaming stop playing this crap.

The repetition in the exact same activities is unreal. I only came today to check mods. I personally think overhaul & content mods would've saved the game. (But surprise, none, cuz this company still lives in the f'ing 90s)

But as it stands, complete trash. You'd be best to just hoist the flat then delete it a day later. It's at most one good fun day of playing. One, day.

Its bad. they need a whole new system, and need to really get away from the 1 vs 1000 mentality. this serious is at its end. i personally say put out 10 and end it. they dont seem to have the budget and it will never be what it could have been.

Litteraly the entire thing on game series and its spawns.... so no... would not work and may as well be a different game at that point else most would not even touch it and say wtf to it.
(personally agree it overdone and prefer more then that also, but ya not what it is may as well pull guns out of CoD/FortNite).

That won't happen especially since it Asain markets need to be taken into account also and fact many of them still do well enough.

Umm this paired with rest... just makes it sound like you not target audience by any means and are just against the game as they still doing quite well ... especially when you think they don't have the $ when they are still labeled quite high in the video game industry....

(Keep in mind there are quite a few Warriors Games -gundum/Samurai/other "historical"/fair few anime ... and the company does other games outside the warriors including other anime like games and Rotk strategy series).

What else is different in 8?

8: Empires actually has content. 9: Empires is just siege battles. 8:Empires has normal battles but also has different twists on them, like thievery missions, assassination missions, escort missions, rescue missions, etc.

8: Empires isn't a great game by any means but it is stellar compared to 9: Empires.
