• Livestreams and Videos. At the start of each video/stream, and approximately every 20 minutes thereafter, you must prominently state and/or display in the video/stream either (i) a notice that the content is sponsored by Square Enix (e.g., “Sponsored by Square Enix” or “Thanks to Square Enix for sponsoring this video”) or (ii) an accurate and comprehensive description of what Square Enix provided you (e.g., “Square Enix gave me a free copy of this game” or “Square Enix paid for my airfare and hotel accommodations to attend the press event,” as applicable). You must also display a similar message in the description of the video/stream. For the next year, if you create another video/stream about a Square Enix game, please note that Square Enix sponsored or provided free content for one of your previous videos/streams, but not this one. • Social Media Posts and Other Content. You must prominently display the tag #sponsored or something similar, or an accurate and comprehensive description of what Square Enix provided you, in each social media post. • General Rules. If the applicable platform provides an official tool to disclose sponsorship, you must use that tool (in addition to the disclosures described above). All disclosures must be in the same language as the rest of your content. Tags/disclosures must not be buried among other tags or hidden below a “show more” link.
It is your responsibility to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidelines (including those enforced by the Federal Trade Commission in the U.S. and the Competition and Markets Authority and the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK). The above guidelines may be insufficient in some circumstances, so please consider whether you may need to make additional disclosures. Failure to comply with the guidelines in this letter may result in legal repercussions for you, and may also result in Square Enix ending its relationship with you and/or refusing to provide you with free games or other items in the future. For more information, please consult with your own legal counsel and visit the websites of the FTC, the ASA, the CMA, and any other applicable regulatory or trade industry group.
