Tenia mucho hype por este juego cuando se anuncio para pc, su trailer te lo vende como un combate fluido y parrys pero al momento de jugarlo es todo lo contrario...

con 3 horas de juego solo obtuve:

-mal optimizacion en general tanto en el combate que en ocaciones tenia micro congelaciones y al reanudar ya tenia la pantalla en gris

-caidas horribles de FPS al cabalgar en nuevas zonas y/o ciudad

-se crashea al cargar nuevos terrenos o cuando interactuas con los puntos de guardados en la ciudad

-los npc para la historia principal se caen literal del mapa y no reaparecen mas haciendo que tengas de reiniciar de vez en cuando

-cuando llegas a una base que debes liberar el juego tarda tanto en cargar a los enemigos que es literal una zona fantasma que no aparecen hasta que interactues denuevo con un punto de guardado o hablando con el mercader.

probe un monton de opciones para bajarle los graficos para que por ultimo jugara decente con unos poligonos con un palo, pero la pesima optimizacion del juego solo te hace esperar hasta que koei saque un parche que arregle el juego que salio roto

es buen juego solo hay que desactivar la sincronizacion vertical, y la sensación de fluidez se mejora mucho, así la experiencia se vuelve buena.

El juego es espectacular. No veía la hora de jugarlo en pc, más considerando que formé parte del doblaje del mismo. Sin embargo tengo que comerme las ganas y esperar porque el uso del CPU es altísimo mas alla de cualquier configuracion visual que se aplique, levantando la temperatura de mi microprocesador a 90 grados constantes.
Hasta que no reparen la pesima optimizacion, mi reseña es negativa.

Lo compré para revisarlo, ya que sus críticas eran malas, me dije: Bueno, juega tranquilo las 2 horas y si no te gusta lo devuelves....No me di cuenta y jugué mas de 6 horas, no dormí.
Es un juegazo, como siempre, le hace falta optimización, pero es buenísimo, yo lo encontré mejor que Elden Ring.
Que el motor está viejo, sí, deben actualizarlo, pero no duden, es tremendo juego, no se lo pierdan.
Para que se hagan una idea, es Like a Dragon: Ishin mejorado, tiene hasta el estilo "camorrista" y además el sistema de niveles está muy bien hecho, es por habilidades, es un Yakuza de Team Ninja, pero el editor de Personajes no es tan bueno como el de Nioh 2, al cuerpo no se le pueden modificar cosas como el cuello ni el ancho de la espalda... RECOMENDADO

Now the technical review:

The game runs horribly unless you want to tweak the settings or you just have a high-end PC. The developers didn’t bother optimizing it and instead blame the players. They just renamed the presets and lowering some options inside those presets while keeping the exact same performance issues, only fixing a few bugs. It makes no sense that a game that looks like a late PS3 or early PS4 title runs this badly on most PCs.

Let me explain the issues of this game:

-Most of the graphical settings are broken (they do nothing beyond the Low or Standard options) but they still drain your fps. but some others actually make a difference, like Shadows or Grass Density. There's also the Terrain setting, but all it does is slightly raise the ground and lod distance of terrain. Please test this yourself: go to the visual settings, press Triangle to remove the background, and observe the changes.

And the ones that do something improve the graphics in one aspect but worsen them in another. The perfect example of this is Model Texture Quality option each time you increase its quality from Lowest, the ground becomes blurrier and worse, while the trees improve. This continues up to Standard; after Standard, the trees no longer show noticeable improvement, but the ground keeps getting worse. Something similar happens with other options like LOD Distance.

Playing wirelessly with the DualSense Edge causes the haptic feedback rumble to only work on the right side of the controller (with or without Steam Input). I don’t know if this happens with the original DualSense. Playing with a cable fixes the problem, but I’m not going to play wired all the time like it’s 2004.

The game still crashes for some people with the error: "This application will be terminated (GAME CRASH)".

The PS5 Pro version have better shadows, as they are more optimized and there are more of them. The PC version is missing shadows that are present on PS5 Pro.

The Anisotropic filter settings is broken, reduce your fps as never before in any game

The slow-motion issue at 120 FPS is still present.

The Raytracing implementation is terrible, it's practically imperceptible in most cases and makes some aspects looks way worse, and obviously still reduces your fps.

They haven’t fixed any performance issues. Instead, they’d rather double down and blame the players.

Is it really that hard to not make bad PC port? Stuttering on a 4090 is just... no.

Nioh 2 ran pretty fine and the graphics aren't exactly that far behind from this game (I'd argue it looks better mostly because of the art direction). I'm getting seriously sick of PC ports these day struggling hard on even the finest machines. Combined with the fact that getting a beefy GPU is harder than ever these days, developers should really put some efforts into optimizing their PC ports, rather than... god knows what led to this monstrosity of a port.

If you insist on buy this awful port in its current state, my recommendation is to forget about going beyond 60 FPS. Capping the game to run at 60 should alleviate the stuttering issues. Also, turn off RT reflections too, it's simply not worth it. Frame generation doesn't seem to help much with my setup, though play with the settings yourself to see if it improve things for you or not.

Other than that, I'm liking the gameplay so far. If only they spend at least some efforts into making the PC port not total trash.

Addendum: It seems that the developers are working on a patch to fix the performance issues. That's a good, but I'm not sure whether I will be changing my review back to "recommended" even if the issues have been addressed. This "release a broken thing then maybe patch later" mentality I don't feel is particularly great for consumers, esp. when it is this broken, and that they had almost a full year to prepare for the PC launch. It seems that some reviewers already warned them about the bad optimization ahead of time, so it's quite unacceptable that this whole mess even happened.

Settings-wise, I tried knocking down the graphics to medium/high, the frame pacing issue is still noticable on 60fps 1440p, however to a lesser extent compared to ultra. Still, the point I'm trying to make here is that if even a beefy PC is having *any* problem running it smoothly, what about folks who use a lesser CPU/GPU? I don't mind the graphics fwiw, but there is a serious disproportion on what is being presented vs. what is being asked for here.

Anyhow, in the event that I do not change my rating, even when the performance issues are no longer a thing, this would serve as a permanent "please stop with the day 1 bad releases" note. I platinum'd this game on my friend's PS5, really liked it. It's a real shame that the PC version got released in this sorry state.

Game is really fun so far. Performance is terrible. It ran just fine for the prologue, but as soon as you get to the open world (which is about 2 hours in; conveniently after the 2h window for steam refunds) performance falls off a cliff. Stuttering and choppiness even if you lower the settings. If they fix the performance, I'll change this to a recommend. No matter how fun the game is, I'm done with unoptimized PC ports. I'm done playing this until they patch it.

Breaks my heart to do this, but I just can't recommend the game in its current state. The optimization is as bad as everyone is saying. If you played Wo Long at launch and remember the optimization problems that plagued that title at launch, this is actually worse. It really is a bummer. Likely going to refund and wait for a patch.
