They should be talking about gathering cats and taking photos though, cause there is a ♥♥♥♥ ton of it.
Taking photos unlocks Intelligence points you can buy, and also count towards the completion percentage, which also unlocks skill points. All these menial tasks add up real fast. Cats also unlock Charm points.
In the first area, I couldn't be arsed with any of it, but when I reached the second one, I decided to take the game a little bit more seriously. So I went around gathering cats, taking photos, finding shrines/chests, doing the training challenges and 100% most areas. Low and behold, my damage and defense almost doubled, which explained why I struggled with the act 1 last boss. All this side content is optional only in the most technical of senses.
Collectibles is the least of Ubisoft games problem if they were fun with a solid combat feel.
Unfortunately it just feel like playing with play-doh. One of the worst combat-feels you can find in an action games since Origins, the ARPG thing really doesn't work in their games.
I would play Shadows if the combat wasn't so garbo.
Because this game is already out on PS5? Shadows literally just released on everything and still can't beat Monster Hunter Wilds which has been out for over a month.
At it's peak MHW had over a million CONCURRENT players on Steam alone, AC Shadows hasn't even managed 100k yet.
All time peak of 60,086 is lower than Dragon Age The Veilguard managed (all time peak of 89,418) and that game absolutely tanked.
You didn't need to put the bar that high, lol. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to outsell all of Ubisoft's games.
Why would you care about lower player peak in a single player game.
i mean it's not fully single player, it has online elements
They don't give them for free, you are just not the one paying for it.
