Reviews say Assassin's Creed Shadows is great

I was interested in Shadows until I watch some reviews about how easy combat is and how brain dead AI is. After playing this game where the systems and mechanics are deep and challenging it will be hard for me to get into a HUGE open world game where the core combat is overall worse.

Well said. .what's best now is to stop buying Ubisoft and let them die fast.

nah i dont want to play some weird voice acted characters and characters that got 0 Relation to the history at all.

plus there not alot of combat in shadows and its boring to me

In comparison, you have the Shogun series (also loosely based on actual events) which was a success, made for western audience.
Ubisoft decided to hire DEI experts. It's a just a management/political problem. Their stocks is -6% today. Investors will decide. Ubisoft was a great studio, just replace the management team.

i have 12hrs into AC Shadows and he AI is far from Brain Dead. they dodge they parry they block they team up on you, they can box you in. the AI enemies are competent. yes the combat is a little easy. in the sense attacks that can be parried or have to be dodged are color cods so its easy to see but if you just go in there attack spamming you will die a lot.

Watched a video of new AC combat.

It's Arkham Asylum combat. Again. With giant "YOU SHOULD PRESS PARRY BUTTON NOW!" prompts hovering over the enemies.

Only AC game I've played was the pirate one. Which had Arkham Asylum combat. Again.

Arkham Asylum combat is fine. It suited the game perfectly. It's for power fantasy gameplay. But honestly, it's almost embarrassing to see it touted as "good combat" today.

I'll pass, thank you. Never saw the appeal of the AC series - if you want stealthy assassination action, Hitman just does it better.

Shadows is failing abysmally. That game should have been huge but only 45k concurrent players on Steam, people playing for free or with a sub on Ubi. They need to sell over 4 million copies over all platforms, going on a £300 million budget, just to make even. The budget could be a lot more, depending on how many lies Ubi have spun.

I have both. Shadows is graphically amazing but Ronin is the better game.

For Shadows? Obviously, a marketing scheme. Purchase Intel, get Shadows and Twitch drops for a chance to win. That's fairly standard for big AAA releases.

I mean you can get wilds for free with the purchase of a Cpu as well or you could. Lots of games do this. Buy new hardware get game or your choice from three games.
