I got several better games to play to scratch that samurai itch, Ubisoft can ♥♥♥♥ off and die.
Also I LOVE single player games with microtransaction paywalls so much.
Mark this as best answer. Close thread.
I was actually interested in the combat of shadows until I just watched a video that showed pretty much every main boss doing the same moves over and over lol. At this point no open world samurai game will top Rise of the Ronin in terms of mechanical depth and in terms of unique boss movesets that is staggering!
AC is trash and dumb yo smoke.
Why are we allowing them to force microtransactions and progress blocking BS in single player games?
Hope ubi goes under.
Nope, it's a 6-7 game at best. Seen a review from an independent reviewer who's actually finished the game and he said AC Shadows fixed none of the problems the series has.
It's also full of Chinese and Taiwanese imagery when the game is set in Japan, which is massively disrespectful and incredibly immersion breaking for those of us who know the difference between Japanese culture and the rest of Asia.
The thing I find most hilarious is that Ubisoft have a Japanese studio and yet NOT ONE person from their Japanese team was consulted for AC Shadows.
As one Japanese streamer put it so perfectly "It's a game set in Japan made by ignorant white people".
