RotR has better/deep combat system
RotR has more randomized loot than GoT
From technical side RotR loses very hard to GoT
I'm not done with story in RotR, but GoT seems much better
World in GoT feels more natural and alive
Coop side is different to compare: RotR has limited number of missions, Legends in GoT has survival, short stories, async pvp modes with tricky raids. Also Legends have a good loot system
Honestly I think Ghost is a massively overrated game.
What it has is beautiful scenery and graphics.
But it also has an extremely lame repetitive combat system, and the game itself is Ubisoft nothing burger world after 1-3 hours you've seen the entire game.
Ronin is surprisingly underrated.
- Good Team Ninja combat system.
- Deep engrossing story where choices matter.
- Great music.
Yes the graphics are rough in places, but it's a beautifully crafted game.
I think it's the definitive Japan/Samurai experience IMHO.
Visuals GOT wins here but its not that huge of a difference, GOT is better if you heavily favor cinimatic stuff when roaming around the world, given its a lot less developed than ROTR is
ROTR has char customization, GOT doesnt (aside from a few different sets of armors, cant change how your char looks facewise)
ROTR has loot mechanics, raritys, different little perks each weapon gets, gearset bonus, GOT has none of this..
ROTR has better coop, while neither of them have any full on freeroam seamless coop the mission based coop is better than GOT's survival crap...
As for the world? ROTR has a better map imo, an equal amount of things to do compared to GOT (Collectable shrines, loot crates (GOT just has sword collectables ROTR its actual gear) settlements to clear out. (ROTR also has dojo, glider, and firearm training minigames, GOT just has bamboo cutting... meh)
As for story? both are great imo, ROTR gives you choices to make, allies to help, and a few of them can die if you dont help them out in their sidequests, GOT..? no freedom of choice, your the ghost nomatter how badly you wanna be an honorable samurai..
Got is a movie game
Also Rise is an actually RPG with different weapon types, different skills and different armors to role play as a different character rather then a Japanese man. If you want to be gunslinger english man shooting your way through the game, do you want to play a pure stealth Ninja you can, do you want to play a Samurai what faces his problems head on you can,....etc.
Also the characters/story is surprisingly good, which is usually not team Ninjas forte.
Ghost of Tsushima is cinematic masterpiece, with god-tier artstyle and visuals, fluid combat and controls, and butter smooth performance. Gameplay might seem basic after a while but I was amazed by this game from beginning to end.
Rise of the Ronin is more like "Nioh meets Assassins Creed" with bigger focus on side activities and combat similar to Nioh/Wo Long.
If you love to combat... ROTR
RoTR = Kenshin ... faster pace and you can be a Batman (Gliding and Graple Hook). I wish mod create Ninja Batman costume lol ..
Ghost is a AC knock off disguised as a bad game
Ronin is a good Samurai game badly optimized made by a japanese studio
Ronin is a game you play while Ghost is a movie you sometime enjoy to play
