why are people defending this poorly optimize cash grab
from everything i have looked into and read and watched i see no reason to buy this game in its current state. now i have a Ryzen 7 9700X with a RX 7900XTX 32GB DDR5 RAM and a GEN 5 NVME. and framegen and FSR Set to balance is the only way i seen people achieve a stable 60fps at 4K which for FSR balance thats about 1080p on the internal resolution. to me that's unacceptable that a game is this unoptimized for the graphics on display. honestly this game isnt graphically demanding at all to have this poor performance im seeing in these videos and reading on forums here. so im baffled why people are defending this game and calling it user error or buy a high end PCs when high end PCs cant run this game without up-scaling and framegen. so why should i buy this game is what im asking. i mean the new upcoming update doesn't even state its even gonna do better optimization

Im rocking a normal ole 3080 with an I710700 and it runs fine imo, 1440 with balanced DLSS with high/ultra settings, one thing that REALLY helped was turning Anisotropic filtering to 0, idk WHY but its HEAVY on performance for some people.

Course all i need is 60fps, im not some freak who needs 144 frames or my day is ruined and its unplayable.. imo if GOT is a 10/10 for visuals this is an easy 7.5 with gameplay that ♥♥♥♥♥ allll over GOT
4070 11600k here and it runs decent at 60 fps mode. But I've experimented with different settings and I can safely say that game is poorly optimized. There are lots of people with powerful rigs that simply bruteforce through any game so they don't notice how bad it is but let's just say that game is using at least 50%-75% more resources(cpu, gpu) than it is supposed to with DLSS and Frame gen. They can literally code it better and increase everybodies(at least nvidia and intel users) performances by 50% at least if not more.

any modren GPU for the past 20 years can handle Anisotropic filtering at 16x since there is little no no performance lost with it. just proves my point this game is a unoptimize mess and having DLSS to balance just highlights it more they dont care about quality. since DLSS balance at 1440p is like 720p internal resolution
cuz it's not a cash grab
it runs poorly even at low settings, but it's a legit work of passion

that's the very definition of a cash grab. if it really was a work of passion they would have optimized it. the fact this game has no optimization and the new update coming out doesnt even address optimization issues is alarming

no bud, elden ring is a cash grab, and the nightreign mod is a cash grab - reused assets and outsourced writing and 2016 ds3 gameplay and graphics

team ninja spent about 8 years trying to make this idea work, and it runs fine most of the times until it has to stream in assets from an hdd, or tries to render tons of polygons without nanite - it's not a cash grab - wolong was a cash grab and it's still fun

I can see it being a work of passion, I've watched all their interviews on it and how it was a dream game for them, and I was so excited to play it; that's why it's so frustrating that they have not optimised it the best they can so more people can get to experience it.

It feels like EVERYTHING is loaded in front of you at an extremely far distance, even if it's hidden behind walls and obstacles, the game has to load EVERYTHING even when it shouldn't be. If you tilt your camera to the ground or to the sky the game runs extremely smooth.

i guess im not so easily tempted by sob stories for corporately marketed made videos that the sole purpose is to get people to buy the game so the actual honesty in those videos is questionable.

so your excuse for this mess of a disgrace of a game is they spent 8yrs? so whats the reason for how poorly this game runs they spent 8yrs and for 8yrs they couldnt figure out how to make it run? but yet still released it because they wanted those sales

Exactly, exactly 😅

But lowering LOD setting to the lowest gets rid of the problems; they merged Draw Distance and LODs into a single setting, so higher settings mean more draw distance and higher poly count.

They also have way too many physics' based destructibles. Most of the stuff doesn't even have to be destructible.

No buddy, they spent 8 years creating a representation of a period of history. There's details in the world that make it interesting to people who like history.

For example:
- they have shogunates clapping wooden sticks at night in the cities. Why? There's a reason why.
- they have npc setups and interactions that are very real, like the beggars eating dirt or dragging npc corpses to feed their horses.
- the decisions in the game also matter, key npcs getting killed, etc

It's a real videogame, it just runs poorly cuz its target was 30fps on console. They did not target 60fps.

I don't mind running the game on low settings with my rig that can run and record UE5 projects at 120fps without problems; and restarting the game every now and then so the compiler can update in order to avoid the obvious incoming crash, because there's real details and I want to see them all, aside from the combat being fun to me no matter how shallow it feels at times.

So you're supporting them in hopes the game will be optimized with updates and patches in the future and you like the accurate representation of Japanese history. Am I correct?

Nah team ninja is definitely passionate about these games and it also feels like it when you play the game

They just suck at PC ports and it's probably an engine issue more than anything else because their UE5 remaster of ninja gaiden worked well (still has some issues but not on this level)

My PC can run the game well so I don't really have any reason to whine about the game but I can understand why some people do if they really have issues.

Even Nioh 2 had issues at first when ported, they had maybe what a year to try and port it, coulda done better, will probably be ironed out as patches come out, its been out for what a week? so far nothing MAJORLY game breaking has come out, you can play the game boo hoo if you cant run it at 4k native with no DLSS...

Does it run poorly? yeah, is it the end of the world? for some people seems like it, it looks fine to me at 1440 at bal DLSS people need to stop whining all the time.

I'm not supporting them, that's just a by product of my desire to consume what they've created.

Brother if it bothers you so much just don't play it. I come from way of Samurai in ps2-3 so this is the game I've wanted for years, until I'm able to finish mine. It is what it is.
