Rise of the Ronin - Application Error Code: 0xC0000005 on Launch
Game will not launch. Based on another thread here, I've disabled Hyperthreading in the BIOS to no avail. I've tried the usual 'fixes' such as, allowing controlled folder access, running the program with dx11 vs dx12, running as Admin (both with and without compatibility mode). Firewall access is allowed for both RotR and Steam. All drivers updated to the latest version with the latest Windows 10 update (using Win10 Pro 64-bit).

Now, my system is a bit OLD at this point and I've been thinking it might just be time to build a new one, but every game I've bought runs fine (even Jedi Survivor when it first came out and we all know what a disaster that was). I'd hate to spend a lot of money on a new system for just one game. And yes, I know there's an update slated for today, March 14, 2025, so hopefully that yields some better results.

Mainly just posting this here for Team Ninja, so they're more aware of this memory issue. If today's update doesn't change things, I'll just refund the game. I don't want to, but it is what it is. Anywho, grandpa specs are (NO OC):

MSI Gaming 5 mobo
Intel 4790K
G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3 - 16GB
AMD Radeon 6750XT

Again, this is mainly for documentation, but if you feel compelled to assist I won't deny suggestions. Thanks!

EDIT: Update on March 14, 2025 did nothing to help. Have fun with the game guys - I genuinely mean that - I'll just refund this one and perhaps purchase it down the road on a discount with a new rig.

That is a very, very old CPU bro. It was good 10+ years ago. I had a 4770k and it was severely outdated once 2020 rolled around. Now it's 2025. Your CPU might no longer be supported.

Even if you should succeed in starting the game, it will run like absolute garbage on that CPU. The game is pushing modern CPUs hard.

I know lol and that's completely fair to say as I did build this system 10 years ago. She's been a good rig - I think I've gotten my money's worth out of it.

The 4790k worked well with the 3060. Like they were perfectly matched. That CPU was only, but it held up for a very long time.
An unexpected error has occurred. this application will be terminated. code: 0xC0000005 address:0x00007FF302E9285
SOLVED:

I built a new PC. Probably not the solution others were hoping for, but it did fix the issue. I needed a new PC anyhow. That being said, the game is still optimized poorly and has other issues. But at least I can play it now.
