KATANA Engine needs to die
Every game made with it runs and looks bad both on PC and console.

It's time to retire it and use something else.

Yep you'd expect a PS3 gen looking game to run really well but nope it's one of the most demanding game's of the last decade.

Like graphics can be forgiven if game[play is good but a game with graphics multiple gens behind should at the very least run a hell of a lot better.

Wait till you reach Yokohama, almost unplayable

I think it looks good and runs ok - has no shader stutter like the majority of UE5 games for example. I am playing at 4k - DLSS Balanced - High/Max - RT on though.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is on an updated version of the engine and looks way better and runs way better so they've done something in the newer version. Dynasty Warriors 9 was one of the worst looking and running games I've played in comparison.

It's not a matter of the engine being bad, they just never bother to optimize it before launch assuming it will just run like the console variants and then are surprised at the feedback it doesn't work and then spend months post launch fixing problems that could have easily been solved before launch. Even as a fan of Team Ninja and their games this has been a consistent issue on their part for years now. By the time the final major patches roll around all of their games run perfectly, but it should never have taken so long to get to those points.

I'll never understand why people comment this. It's like someone telling you they have cancer and you respond by saying, "well I don't have cancer".

Great you're not having performance issues, but a lot of people are. I'm on top end hardware, i9-13900K, RTX 4090, 128gb DDR5 ram and 6tb M.2 SSD and this game STRUGGLES to get 60 fps at 1440p. There are a lot of optimization tricks they can use like not rendering crap you don't need to see, or that the player would never be able to see. I guarantee none of that exists in this game.
Seriously - for some reason this game HAMMERS my CPU. Unless i cap it to 60 fps I am getting temps of 80 degrees - not even MH Wilds is that bad after playing it for hours.

At the very least they need to look at outsourcing their PC ports to someone else. They clearly do not have the technical know how in house to do these ports.
