This game gets me, it's so extensive and complex! :O
My goodness, there are so many different characters in it, and I'm only in Edo right now! I'm torn and confused. Should I switch to the Shogunate or Anti-Shogunate faction? So many decisions, it's just so complex! And what influence does this all have on the outcome of the story?

It doesn't matter. Plus, the game allows you to redo missions to see all the possible outcomes.

the story ends up the same no matter wat, but u see different sides n fight different ppl dependin on ur choices.

like narf said, u eventually unlock the ability to replay past missions... once u beat the game, u can redo any choice on a higher difficulty.

Choices dont matter. It only affects who you fight but no change in story AT ALL. Your MC can be deleted from the game and it wont change the story because you actually dont do any concrete thing

I see, thanks guys!
Game is complex ? None of the rpg elements matter. They are just there for eye candy. Main issue is of the game is that combat is trash. Which is a bummer.

You should definitely redo missions and make different choices -at points where it matters for the record, the game will then ask you if you want to keep your first choice, or change to the new one in the record.

Depending on some of them, some NPCs will live/die and then you can't have them as companions.

If you want to change your choices and for it to register, you have to do it in the normal game mode, because redoing the missions on Midnight (hardest difficulty basically) will not reset NPCs and such.

Depending on whom you side with, also alters some missions as in giving you different bosses to fight => equipment you can get changes.
