[Help] Ryu Hayabusa armor recolor?

Forgive me for asking a question that might seem silly, but I saw in some pictures online, that the armor was dyed black; do I need to use a female character since she starts with the black kimono? I reiterate the question may seem stupid but with the male character the set is actually blue colored (I mean the one in the pre-order). Thanks in advance to those who will reply.

Hi OP, the black color version is called "Ninja Descendan"t, and you'll need to build your bond with Yasusuke Sawamura to get the gear pieces.

To establish a bond with Sawamura, complete the Yukichi Fukuzawa bond mission "In Search of New Knowledge" in Yokohama. After that, to find him, you need to unlock the ability to go to Edo, and once there, locate the Ninja Villa where he resides (just West/Northwest of the city proper)
