10K On The Dogs Seem Like Kind Of A Waste To Me
But two entire threads of people on Reddit say that I am wrong about that.

You get 10 silver coins, but you get 1 coin from just petting a single dog, which you will see quite a few of. 10K money is longer to acquire, and there is more than enough silver coins to get all the skill treaties WITHOUT the dogs. The gifts are unnecessary, and the armors suck. So what's the point?

I am in act one, so maybe there's something I am missing. Is there any reason I should spend money on that instead of just using it to upgrade my current gear? Most equipment I find is my level, but usually has significantly worse stats. I bring this up because people also said you get gear your level when spending 10K on the dog, but so what if it's noticeably worse?

you need silver coins to buy master equipment, which can be 100+ coins for a random drop so you need a few thousand to get the equipment with the title you want for your build to have access to the secondary stats

once you unlock the cats' system and have enough cats to rent, you can passively farm equipment, which you can sell, so 10K is basically dirt

10K on the dog guarantees dogs spawning on unruly areas after you restore public order, and they drop 2-3 coins guaranteed, so if you spend 10K on the dog you should instantly go to restore public orders to farm those silver coins

you think you have enough silver coins now cuz you don't understand their value yet
you also need to spend silver coins to buy the item the lets you modify equipment stats, and you'll need a few thousand of those to modify your entire equipment, most bonds require up to 80 of the item, and I think it's 10 silver coins each.

maybe don't have such a strong opinion if you haven't even scratched the surface of the systems in the game; at least wait til 100 hours

Nope. I'll do what I want, and seek knowledge on my own terms. That was the intention of this thread. I wanted to know if this system opens up in advance. The rest of your response was very helpful though, thank you!

I said that cuz you said reddit said you're wrong, while you're still on the first chapter.
Actually, I do have a follow up question though. If dogs are guaranteed to spawn in unruly areas, could I exploit that by going to those areas specifically to pet the dog, then just leave and come back to get them to spawn again instead of dealing with the local thugs?

Yeah, but I also don't know the scope of the chapters. There's games where chapter one is 75% of the game, then chapter 2 is pretty much just the end. So for all I knew, these dogs would be kinda useless up to the end of the game. That's why I felt the need to post this.

as long as the area is "unruly" so not restored, the dog is guaranteed

the dog only spawns after you restore the area; it's usually idling by a bonfire

you can reset the world map once you get to midnight difficulty

you can also reset the map by changing your faction, not sure if changing back to your original faction will restore the map to what it was or will reset it; hopefully it resets back, as you would be changing the bond of the regions to different factions back and forth... this mean you have infinite open world content

I did the entire world maps on anti shogun faction, then changed the outcome of the missions of the story to be pro shogun and the world maps reset completely; not sure if it has to do with midnight difficulty specifically
