Has keybinding and mouse controls been improved?
I believe that you could not rebind everything initially and core things like stance switching was cycling through it. Like seriously?

Also you could not swap lock-on targets with mouse movement? Mouse scroll wheel can be used to cycle items which is the norm for these kind of games

I was looking forward to this on PC having played the demo on PS5 for proper mouse and keyboard controls. But the poor keybinds combined with the poor performance is leaning more to a pass. The core mechanics of the game is still great, but it is dampened by poor execution

Just buy a controller and get ds4 or inputmapper
Give your back a rest

The game is fantastic. One of the best open world combat game that there is. With good music for the boss fights. Why not just go all the way and not give people a reason to complain. See how First Beserker Khazan has received such overwhelming positive reviews from critics and fans. That also is not the best in terms of presentation and keybinds but it has more than enough now that people cannot complain in bulk and bring the whole game down and they have scope to improve.

This game deserves dlc and more end game content like the floors and depth in all other Team Ninja game. But will not get it cause it did not do as well as it should. Team ninja really needs to take sometime off and work on these key issues before Nioh 3 or whatever their next game is. The have nailed the hard part, just nail the easier ones as well

Yes :) I still hope there will be DLC one day, but still it is a port. So no idea if they will make extra content. Maybe some kind of infinite mode where you can conquer regions and regions can get unstable again, if they get enemies again.

Truly hoping for dlc as well like the end game in the Nioh games but seems unlikely at this point.

I do have a controller but my preference on pc is keybaord and mouse by a long shot. Virtually all games are played with K&M with little to no issues. It is a preference tbh

As someone who just started the game. I use Right Mouse button to block and Left Mouse button to attack. I put Counterspark on pressing both together. So I can keep the right mouse button held to constantly block and then if i need to parry i just press left mouse.
I wanted to ask anyone that is further into the game. Is it fine if i leave my keybinds like this or is it gonna interfere with abilities or combos you unlock later on?

I am not sure but from the layout on ps5 it is fine. I know there is a sequence that requires pressing triangle and circle together on ps5 later on but that will depend on whether the keybinds allows you to do so rather than emulate the game pad and require the same button combo but for K&M instead.

I nearly play all my games with keyboard and mouse and also always prefer it.
But I fell Nioh, Wo Long and Rise of the Ronin worked way better with controller.

I understand and many people prefer controllers. But I have also played these games with both controllers and keyboard and mouse and I prefer keyboard and mouse by a wide margin. I have a mouse with multiple keybinds that is probably why.

Been able to move the camera and jump / sprint (Some games you need to hold down O to sprint on Ps5 controllers e.g, lies of P) is priceless for example. It can be personally hard to use controllers when there is comfortable keybind and mouse support unless playing in front of the TV.

I believe in options which is why I love PC. I hate poor attempts to not do the bare necessity to allow comfortable play with your input of choice.

Team Ninja RPGs always play better with Mouse & Keyboard once you've got everything setup. The people saying otherwise has simply never tried it, or were too lazy to.

Admittedly, you DO need to work a bit to get it to your liking, but once you have you controls right, you simply have more control over everything going in the game.

I agree. They have too many buttons and awkward ones unless you are pro. E.g. in rise of ronin combo switching of weapons with R1 and directional button left combo. It is only good if everything can be re-binded and not forced unnecessary things like cycling stances instead of dedicated keybinds

So fun fact, you can use literally any key on the keyboard as a modifier and still use those keys for individual things. You could theoretically do really dumb things map almost everything to the mouse by using different modifier keys, for example maping move forward to W + Left Mouse and backwards to W + Right Mouse. There is absolutely no reason to do this but you can and the game will let you. In my opinion aside from the lack of mouse target switching it has some of the best binding options of any game I have ever played

Thanks. But the stance switching is cycling tho. Why not allow individual keys for each stance?

I count this as personal preference and not that people who prefer controllers are "too lazy". Some people rather like keyboard&mouse, others with controller. As I said, I am usual all for mouse&keyboard, but these kind of games and beat em' up games like street fighter I rather like play with controller, because of the combos in close range.
