What I don't get with TN games on PC is that literally every release has very similar performance issues at anything above 60FPS.
- Nioh 1 was locked at 60FPS so it did not have much of these issues.
- Nioh 2 had the same slow motion bug when it launched (was caused by effects being set to high), and it also had certain bosses that were tied to Frame rate making them near impossible on anything higher then 60 (the Lady demo house for example).
- Strangers Of Paradise to this day has slow motion on 120FPS mode, no matter what PC you have, so it also has to be locked at 60.
- Wo Long I don't remember having slow motion bugs but it also had tons of FPS issues on launch and I could not play it above locked 60 because of the frame rate fluctuations (thank fully now its buttery smooth 120 fps with very few dips).
-Now Rise of the Ronin has the same slow motion bug at 120FPS mode, it has VRAM memory leaks as if I play the game too long my 10GB 3080 VRAM fluctuates from 7GB to 9GB while sitting in one spot, which causes tons of FPS drops into the 40s. Thankfully with a 60FPS lock the game stays buttery smooth, but after while it will have frame pacing issues.
I love these games and it really sucks so many people are having issues with performance, as when they play smoothly they are some of the funnest action RPGs games on the market.
But here, is a fun game, RoR, but it has a terrible optimization and, God, even it had game-breaking bugs as loosing the camera obscurae because of doing gliding training
they fumbled the release and that was their best shot
Yeah its been a stacked few month for games, but its not an unusual thing for games to get a boost in sales, a bit after launch or when the first sale drops.
As much as people may hate it, releasing next to a new AC game, especially one that is going for the same ascetic, will only hurt the games sales. I really like the game but Ronin for some reason was trashed on by many people on launch (PS5), and on PC it launched at avery competitive time and with some performance issues, so it had a lot of things going against it out of the gate.
On a side note I also will be picking up Khazan as that game along with Ronin were my most anticipated games of the year (so far). Ronin is great and well worth the price (trying to finish up), and I'm expecting Khazan to be good as well if the demo is any indicator of the full game.
To each their own, but I have put hundreds of hours in Nioh 1/2 and I want to see another companies take on that formula with the mission based structure, and diablo-like loot system.
From my experience its not Sekiro-like or Sous-like, but its the first Nioh-like and I am very much looking forward to it. I just hope it has a decent NG+ right out of the gate and the loot is interesting.
Yeah Khazan is one of my most anticipated games this year along with Hell is Us
I also recommend getting Stellar Blade when it comes out on PC in June, it has parry focused gameplay and it's really good.
Wuchang also seems interesting but I'm not sure about that one yet
It's fair to say that this year is stacked for ARPGs so that's why I don't think Rise of the ronin will get many sales anymore.
