You know what else is an open world action rpg that takes places in Japan? Way of the Samurai. You know what plays absolutely nothing like Ghost of Tsushima? Way of the Samurai, and Rise of the Ronin. Like I said, they are only comparable by superficial elements. How all of those elements are implemented plus what said game do uniquely that matter. The point is the kind of game Team Ninja was trying to make with Ronin is focused on entirely different things than what Sucker Punch was trying to do with Ghost, both in terms of combat flow, narrative, presentation, tone and aesthetic. They are not trying to be the same game, I'd even argue that they aren't even trying to appeal to the same core crowd. Ronin is trying to take Team Ninja's over the top Character Action Game format and put it in an open world with an equally over the top large scale fantastical plot. Ghost is trying to be an immersive cinematic experience with mostly grounded combat with flow being much closer to something like an Arkham game and an Akira Kurosawa style brooding and mostly grounded style plot. They are entirely different experiences and deserve to be judged on their own merits and not based on what an entirely different product that only share superficially similar details that only exist on surface level details do. They should both be played and enjoyed rather than picking one over the other because they are trying to do very different things and be very different games. It would be like comparing Elder Scrolls to Witcher because they are both Open World RPGs set in a fantasy medieval setting and saying you should only play one because you would be getting the same as playing the other. It's would be stupid and ludicrous and devalues both experiences by whittling them down to their shallowest elements. Both Ronin and Ghost are Great and both should be played
This is for Souls like luvers .. 😘
Ronin- Much better replayability has actual customization.
Now the open world is rather hard to describe and choose which one is better Ghost I would say has a better designed open world to explore while Ronin has has more in it and is funner to play in and has actual large settlements more than just a couple buildings like in Ghost,
Gameplay between the two in my option Ghost is more smooth and looks better while Ronin has a lot more to it from the multiple weapons and is a lot funner longer.
Summed it perfectly.
I loved Ghost, but I just prefer the deeper RPG elements of Ronin and these types of 'souls' games.
