Stranger of Paradise: Walmart Final Fantasy with loot
Wo Long: Walmart Sekiro with loot
Ronin: Walmart Tsushima with loot
My bet is that their next game is a Walmart Elden Ring with loot.
I'd argue Ronin was their ELDEN RING.
You could combine all the fromsoft games and it wouldn't even be close a comparison to Nioh 2 alone, it's fine to live in your happy delusion but do not force it on others.
How is it the walmart version? All of the games you listed are bigger games than the one you say they are copying. Not to mention Elden Ring's character creator sucks. No matter what, everyone is Jack from Nightmare before Christmas. Team Ninja added a lot of player customization and custom builds and playstyles that none of those other games offer.
Its funny you say this because you act like loot was just added in with no real thought, even though many of Team Ninjas action RPGs (especially Stranger of Paradise) are literally designed around the loot. These are not just systems shoved into the game because its popular, these are system put in the game by people who love deep actions games and also love deep RPG/build systems that really add to the depth and longevity of your game.
If Strangers of Paradise for example did not have loot, the dual class system, the build complexity,..etc, it would be a worse game and that is a fact. Yet with all of these systems together makes it probably one of the deepest 3rd person action RPGs I have ever played with near limitless build possibilities and combinations. I would even say its a better FF game in terms of RPG systems then the latest FF16 lol.
I will never get the hate on the loot when it adds so much more replaybility, playstyle customization, and long term enjoyment to the game.
I feel like the only people who hate on the loot systems are those who just don't understand how much they can add to a game IF they are done well. Should every game have loot? Of course not, and this is why TN is making new pure action games like NG to please those type of players.
Moral of the story is not everything is for everyone and just because you don't like it does not make it objectively a bad inclusion in a game.
