Attention. PC Port impressions are extremely negative.
Attention.

The PC port seems to be a disaster.
Just read this tech review. We're talking about a 5090 here, currently the most powerful GPU by far.

https://wccftech.com/rise-of-the-ronin-is-yet-another-disappointing-pc-port-from-koei-tecmo/

In addition, it doesn't even come close to 30 frames on the Steam Deck in any settings.

I'm tired boss, I just want a decent game at launch for once.

Still gonna get it cause I've been waiting on it and I got wild hearts to run ok but disappointing to hear

some more info here. Says on a 7800x3d and 7800xt — 1440p native ultra settings had some annoying frame drops. But with FSR quality it was more stable. seems like ultra settings are a trap if you’re not on high end
the first article is the person ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because the game company that typically releases poor to middling ports of their games on PC didn't optimize for 4K. There comes a point where you're just an idiot repeatedly grabbing the electrified fence even though you know what's going to happen. KOEI/TECMO are lazy as ♥♥♥♥, always have been, always will be. Either stop setting yourself up for disappointment from a company you know is likely going to disappoint you or buy a console. i'm sure the game is going to run just fine on lower resolution settings on most decent PCs just like most other games have.

PC port impressions are only so negative if you blindly trust clickbaittech. Who literally acknowledge usage of nonstandard setttings and then complaining about poor performance.

Multiple other sources are just saying 'don't use ultra preset, and you should be fine', with one even mentioning that they didn't even try it on their actual system, but that they tried to play on a laptop, where any number of other things could have contributed to their poor performance result.

Seen a few videos on youtube already. RTX3060 is the most common card in steam yet the only benchmarks and reviews are with 4k ultra RTX5090 bla bla...

And I bet there's still going to be people saying "it runs fine on my PC".

I mean, it will probably run fine on my PC. Wild Hearts and Dragon's Dogma 2 also ran fine on my PC. 24GB VRAM and 64GB RAM will help a lot.

I was planning to play this on Steam Deck though...

I think you missed the point in that the people who say "it runs fine for me" literally add nothing to conversation that's occurring when talking about optimization/performance. There is literally not point in people stating that the game runs good for them since they aren't the people that matter when it comes to a game getting patches/fixes.

He said it will 'probably' run fine for him. He is speculating. He estimates he can get it running good enough of his purposes, so any patches/fixes will only benefit him when he goes about getting it to run to his liking. I think he concludes this because while the first article mainly commented on max settings native 4k on a 5090 and was unimpressed, the second article found the same, but tweaked the settings down from the highest possible resolution / quality settings and got acceptable results. Different people with different hardware and expectations on framerate vs quality will get different results, and I think he was just expressing some optimism he can find a happy medium based on what he knows now.

I'm more captivated by the gameplay anyway, which is something Team Ninja is known for. I'll set the graphics so they look like Nioh and won't lose sleep over the fact someone paid 2k+ for a graphics card to run their game at 40 fps.

edit: Saying that the game isn't great because you can't max it out at 240fps at 16k on your 6090 in the year 2030 is nonsense lol.

Seems like for now, avoid using Ultra settings, go with Standard or High in the graphics options and you'll be gucci. There will be a Day 1 patch to fix some issues.

This has a lot more details including in-game settings.

Thanks. I prefer when they tell which settings they use.
There's people who couldn't get the game running at a stable framerate with an RTX 4070, at 1440p:

Even if fps is low, you can always use Lossless Scaling to delivery silky smooth frame generation.

Would this work with 3080? I think next year I may need to upgrade. It's annoying how fast they keep going through graphics card generations. They are a bunch of crooks.

Is 4070 comparable to a ps5 pro? or is it more like a 3070ti?

4070 is around 10~12% better than a RX 6800 non-XT which is basically what the PS5 Pro has.
