combat is faster paced and more samurai cinema levels of blood and ridiculousness, ghost was grounded combat that was simple but good alongside a world that's still unrivaled today graphics wise.
its completely different in the way it plays and looks
The game introduces glider mechanic which allows much faster exploration. Game pacing feels much faster, more blood & gore effects, supports raytracing, there are lots of martial arts and playstyles you can go with such as Katanas, Paired Swords, Sabre, Rifle w/ Fixed Bayonet, Spears, Greatsword, Odachi, Rifle, Revolver, Bow, etc.

Combat will automatically be better because its a Team Ninja game, also there will be more focus on RPG systems, like gear, character stats,...etc. I tried to like Ghost of Tushima, but after about 10hrs the combat was already getting boring, but from what I have seen of this game the more you play the more complex the combat gets and that is what I'm looking forward to.
Personally, I enjoyed Rise of the Ronin over Ghost Tshushima. You can create your own character. The characters that you meet are more interesting than the ones you find in GOT.

The combat is fun, lots of fighting styles and weapons to play around with. You can fly or glide. I enjoyed the story more than I did GOT. You can pet cats and dogs.

GoT is literally assassin's creed with some pretty good swordplay. This game is much flashier swordplay (kinda like Ninja Gaiden, but ok not THAT flashy) and less emphasis on 'realistic moves' and overall faster traversal.

To correct this comment.

You can't fly. You can traversal with a grappling rope, and also use a kite to glide like in Assassins creed 2. It's 'OPTIONAL', but if you want to collect EVERYTHING in the game, then you can use these features. The gliding is very realistic, the grapple rope is a little tiny far-fetched, that being said it's not a deal breaker at all. It's actually very fun. The other 99% of the game is a LOT more realistic.

Also this game offers a LOT more than GoT in terms of features, all types of fighting techniques you have to form relationships with people to learn. Housing and it's bonuses.. It's all down to player choice. EVERYTHING.

Additional: Character creation for you and your twin is a great feature.

The combat is a different breed. It's honestly more like sekiro if you replaced block-based parrying with attack-based parrying.
The combat was good, the open world was just vacant and lifeless.

The game is average on a good day and I wouldn't recommend it at this price at all.

It's almost like you've never played any Ubisoft open world ever... If you think this was lifeless, ho boy are you in for a shock.
It's a game with an actual combat system, and not much about muh epic parkour or cinematic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (there are in RoTR, but you will require to spend some efforts on the enemies).

Not a fan of Ubisoft in the slightest, beyond Division titles Ubisoft has been dead to me for years.
Unlike Ghost of Sushi, this one isn't boring as hell or masquerading as some profound love letter to Japanese cinema.
