How similar is this game to the Way of the Samurai series?

I've been really looking for my WotS fix from a new game for years now.

I mean... combat has some similarities mostly in the flow of it.

but everything else like story, immersiveness, or replayablity has no real resemblance to WotS

If you are looking for a WotS, maybe try "Like a Dragon: Ishin!" it gave me some serious WotS vibes when i played it especially WotS4 just due to some of the weird ♥♥♥♥ that happens in it.

+1 on Like a Dragon: Ishin. If you have played a Yakuza game before you will be right at home with its wackiness. If not, it can be a little overwhelming at times but the plot and characters are based on real characters in history with a little bit of a spin on the plot using character models from past Yakuza games.

Bro this game is beat by beat way of the samurai 4. If wots4 was developed by team ninja then it would be rise of the ronin. Don’t believe me check out the plot and setting of 4 and just remember to pick up your jaw off the floor afterwards.

This... pretty much is what you'd get if WotS4 got remade. Just not AS open as its not a 'run based' game. This one has a complete beginning and end and everything in between.

But otherwise, outside of that... yeah.
