Mouse movement in game severely restricted, cannot access settings

I've just got this game for myself cause it seemed interesting and I could not wait to play. Now I launched it and it started with a screen flicker like a game would when it starts in fullscreen, but then minimised itself. When I brought it back up it was in a small borderless window, so I tried to access the settings menu to change the resolution or go fullscreen.
Problem is, it won't let me. My cursor is restricted to a small portion in the center of the window, just big enough for me to access the new game button.

So I decided to try launching a save and see if I could access the menu from in game. I can, but I cannot reach the "Apply" button to change anything, nor can I access the right side buttons of the options. Keyboard functionality for menus does not seem to exist, or at least it does not for me.

Can anyone help me? Tell me which .ini file I can edit to correct the resolution or something like that at least?

EDIT: the trick using ctrl+enter icky bricky suggested worked for me, and it allowed me to get to the settings and "reapply" fullscreen mode. How this issue got past all testing and made it into the finished game I have no idea. I really wish they'd at least patch it to fix this issue as it makes a really horrible first impression. I'm assuming it's a bug because I've also played Red Strings Club by the same dev and did not have any issue of this kind, only smooth sailing all the way to the end.
No need to beat the dead horse, but I am immensly disappointed by this. I've finished the game in the meantime and found it quite good, but this kind of problem right at the start must've cost them plenty of players.

Having the exact same issue lol.
Why does it launch in a way where I physically can't click the settings button? And using "tab" or arrow keys doesnt move around the selection either. Using a controller I can get the mouse over the button but I cant click on it -_-

I feel like this is something that should've been caught and fixed months before launch. There are like 4 different work arounds that would usually work that don't work on this

i had this issue! to fix it let the game open all the way in its small mode then hit control + enter. this will force it into windowded mode and let you use the mouse. then open your settings, it will still have " full screen mode" selected so all you have to do is hit apply and that should make it full screen

having the same issue. game started automatically in a smaller window. not full screen. made it through the dialog until it prompted me to answer the first yes or no questions but my mouse could not reach the yes or no options. tried using the keyboard but that also does not work. im super disappointed. my only option was to exit the game completely.

for me the fix was alt+enter, not ctrl+enter
